    speed strength/lifting

    Do them as part of my hypertrophy/explosive speed cycle. Am a bodybuilder so quit redirecting me to the powerlifting section! The cycles i do lasts 3 weeks for speed/power and 4 weeks for hypertrophy

    Now i have been told to include the top speed exercises, e.g. speed bench, squat, shoulder press, clean and press. all at explosive speeds, low reps, heavy weight.


    but the question is, do i just do these exercises everyday i work out (thats 3 days a week) and focus on these solely for the explosive strength?

    cause am worried incase that during the speed/stenngth aspect of my cycle i lose weight and muscle due to minimal workouts of the exercises i do in the hypertrophy cycle./

    Well since you have only been training a short while you really should just focus on getting stronger first then worry about becoming more explosive with the lifts. And using bodybuilder form doing those lifts is asking for an injury. Some may disagree with me but for those new to lifting focusing on getting stronger is of more benifit as the stronger you are the faster you will be able to move the weights

    did u even understand what i wrote? OBV on explosive weeks i use explosive strength form and on hypertropy weeks i use BB form.

    not justified. this is the basics, split into a cycle.

    am not wanting to be pro or anything. personal trainer recommended it for my goals that i want. size first, but also explosiveness

    Bro at your level there really isnt a need to do exsposive and balsitic movements. If you are truly interested anyway check out westside training.

    you could very well do just the explosive lifts during that part of the cycle (I wouldnt though, do all of your other accessory work) and no you arent going to lose any mass during the explosive cycle.

    what u mean dont cycle at all? no i recommended that and he said it was a no no. dont many power movements in the one week he said would crucify my gains and ovetrain.

    only way to reasonably do both is to do summit like this.

    now on the speed days will i only stick to the main exercises - clean and press, bench, squat, military press and whatever. What will happen to all those back and specific muscles i work on hypertrophy days will they stay the same? or will they suffer severe atrophy as am not doing the exercises i was in the hypertrophy part of the cycle.

    You can have the focus on your speed movements and still do accessory work. I'm not sure why he would tell you not to do any. If you dont do any accessory work you arent going to lose any mass.
