    Elbows Constantly Cracking/Popping/Pain.. Anyone else?

As of the last 2 years I have been training a lot more... doing a lot of Brazilian Jiu jitsu and heavy weight lifting.

As of the last year my elbows have been killing me. Super inflamed and they are cracking when I fully extend my arms, they crack and pop when I extend for a push up, and same when I do anything that requires force. Bench pressing has now gotten painful and I am currently taking time off from any pressing/tricep movements as my elbows are just in pain.. feels like they are internally bleeding. I never used elbow wraps before and so I just purchased some (on their from amazon)

Anyone else experience anything like this? It is terrible... like I was just PRing on my lifts and now I have to completely stop because of pain.

Been trying to figure out same thing, I would assume, joint inflammation from excess working out, not stretching, hydration, diet some too.

I been wanting to get more massages too see if that helps with recovery. Just got one and my elbow hurt after, like that super tight can’t hold my body up, 15 minutes later now feels warmed up and stronger than before massage already

I been working out hard, building a lot of muscle, but sometimes joints hurt at first when doing pull-ups, can barely do 6 good ones

After building up I can get a good 15-20 strict perfect form good ones and I’ll do 4-5 sets after barely getting 6 my first two warm up sets

That’s some serious ****, I would not let the above get to you lmao, you’re in your 30s and very active. Stick to my advice till a professional MD comes in

My girl who’s not far from an MD also said the likely hood of tendinitis is slim to none and likely from what I mentioned

    Also getting older lol

Yours sounds pretty bad, could be bone spurs too. You probably should get an X-ray then MRI if necessary.

In addition to turmeric & collagen mentioned above, throw the kitchen sink at it... fish oil, glucosamine/chondroitin, boswellia, etc.

The worst thing you can do for your elbows is Brazilian Jiu jisu. You literally get arm-barred multiple times a week. That causes damage to the nerves in the elbow. I only did it for 18 months and I still got elbow problems from it.

Dunno if it helps at all, but as I said in my other post, I had tennis elbow for decades. I did a rando Google search and found some forum where a guy was talking about high rep / light weight EZ bar curls fixing it. I figured, why not, so twice a week I do curls. I start light with 15 rep sets and do them as part of a cycle, while lifting other stuff. Every time I come back to curls I increase the weight 10 pounds (which is convenient as the bars are pre-loaded) and do 15 reps. I start really light with 30 pounds, then 40, 50, 60, etc... and end up at my working sets of 90 pounds and do 3 sets of 15 and try to do a few more on the last set. So it's a hell'a lot of reps/sets, but it has fixed my elbow. My elbow now feels healthier than it has in decades. As a side benefit, my biceps have grown some due to all that volume.

It does slow curl progress as you get tired near the end and you can't lift quite as heavy as otherwise, but I'll switch back to a normal scheme in a few weeks.

No reason not to try it, at worse you get bigger biceps.

I do standing curls cause I reckon it's better for functional/explosive strength. Make sure you are doing the full range of motion.

Ive been doing jiu jitsu for years and its very rare I get hit with an arm bar... I would say maybe once a month at most? And when I do get into these types of positions I tap fairly quickly before full arm extension

Let me know how it works. I was shocked by the results, but it does take time. I been doing 2.5 months, and actually increased my weight once from 80-90. I feel like I'm near the end as I'm just getting too tired, but I'll definitely cycle back to it.

Not much other than rest . To work around it I have to use dumbbells when I bench press , and no isolated tricep exercises . Also no quick movements when working out .
    Naproxen helps a percentage .

Acupuncture didn’t help , and actually made it worse once . But that could just be me, who knows
