I've been sticking to the calisthenics for a while but giving more time and effort to the push-ups since apparently my chest and arms are much weaker than the rest of my body. (I almost completely spend my whole physical energy on push-ups since last few weeks)
I am getting noticeable gains on my chest, shoulders and triceps and also i can do more knee push-ups than i could before starting to calisthenics. But i still can't increase my reps in standard push-ups, i can barely pass ten reps. And whenever i try to pass my limit in standard push-ups, my arms start trembling and i can barely lift myself without cheating my form. Is it expected or i am doing something wrong?

Could be a form issue, especially if your progress has stopped; you can try adding weights (a backpack full or books or something will work) and try that for bit to see if it helps. Also, are you adding more sets? More sets or reps can help lead to progress; even if you can only do sets of 1-2 if you keep at it than it should help. Once you are not able to do standard pushups you can also switch to knee push ups just to get the muscle working more; progressive overload is what leads to strength and size gains.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

I am trying to stick to the proper form as much as possible and i switch to the knee push-ups when i can't do standard push up with the proper form. The weird thing is, amount of my knee push ups are increasing along with the growth of my muscles used during the knee push ups but the amount of standard push ups are increasing in a sluggish pace and it just feels odd to get bigger muscles yet little to no push-up progression
