Does weight loss have a delayed effect?

I’ve Been doing a hour of cardio, lifting, and eating one light meal a day in a one meal a day fasting the other 23 hours a day. Haven’t lost one pound in 2 weeks of doing this.

Is there’s usually a delayed effect to losing weight that hits weeks after the work and diet done, or is something seriously wrong with me?

Yes there is a delayed effect and water retention with super low calories. You should be on a sustainable diet as crash dieting is unhealthy and not sustainable. What is your gender (Choose either M or F), height and weight
If you don't get what you want you didn't want it bad enough

Dieting causes a stress effect in your body which can cause water retention. If you are in a net calorie deficit, at some point the water will drop. If you've just started weigh training then that can also make your weight go up a little at first which can counteract weight loss. This is because of glycogen uptake into the muscles and inflammation causing more fluid retention.

Makes sense so when I’m back to eating more calories I’ll see results?

if you're not losing weight after 3 weeks or so, the answer is never to eat more. that being said, crash dieting isn't really the solution either

After taking in way too few calories the body can hold quite a bit of homeostatic water. Adding calories can cause water to be released and the scale to go down hence why people think eating more causes fatloss when it reality they just dropped water.
