    Should I use wrist wraps?

I get some wrist and elbow pain during presses... even on machines, when I do low reps & high weight.
Yes, I keep my elbows under my wrists.
Difficult for me to keep my wrists fixed.

I was thinking of buying some wrist wraps and use them for a while.
From what I've read, they can help with joint pain.
    Any experience with them?

    Thanks,

Also, I do have boxing wraps.
Could these help or do they need to be elastic wraps?
This guy recommends them - no idea who he is

Wraps are a great SECOND thing to try.

After fixing your ****ty bar/handle positioning in your hand (or confirming you do it right)

**** boxing wraps.. Buy powerlifting wraps

Do the math. You ain't that person, their experience probably isn't going to be yours. Can still be useful for inspiration - try things, follow athlete response and track trends In your training.

No clue what may be happening in the wrist. To vague.
But, for PAIN reduction generally, the boxing wraps will be better. Doing some specific wrist extension/flexion exercises wouldn't be a terrible idea either since wrapping will just assist in making other areas stronger while providing the wrist with stability (potentially feeling more weakness later). The body adapts in amazing ways so start with some wrist exercises and use wraps in the meantime to help with other lifts if they bother you.

I use wraps on my work sets. Do I have to? Probably not. But why not?

I personally don't use them but I don't want to speak to your experience, as they may be useful for you. For some reason, I never had trouble with wrist posture even with heavy presses.

I use calisthenics type wraps all the time, even on pull days. It's like a fashion statement which I like. I only tighten them when really going at planche, other than that I wear them not tight and it's more like a wrist warmer than assisting in my holds.

I do train wrist/finger strength directly as well as wrist flexibility.

Last evening, I ordered wraps + Boswellia serrata
I don't usually believe in supplements, but Boswellia seems to have good research on examine com + it was very cheap

I will experiment with more of a bulldog grip
    https://youtu.be/lsnQb9I5Idc

and watch this JM Blakley video about wrists
    https://youtu.be/xceZw3n1w4c

I will try these wrist routines - gymnasts have strong wrists
    https://youtu.be/oBvxBeiPVcI
    https://youtu.be/vDdY8ME8LIE

I also hit the heavy bag frequently and maybe this + presses = pain in time
The pain is tolerable on my right elbow and it gets better in time.
In the past, it was my left elbow, the pain has completely gone and my left elbow seems more stronger.
I didn't do anything special, I actually trained through pain {not saying this is good} + increased rep range for arms isolation
About my wrist, it seems like a limiting factor on some presses these days.

    I have small wrists {not an excuse, I know}
I've seen in the subway recently an older fatter guy, that seemed sedentary, with some of the biggest wrist I have ever seen.
Those could have been mine, but no... thanks God, Allah or any other deity that might be there, in the sky

If the boswellia doesn't work well for you, try turmeric.

My son was pressing with ridiculous bent on his wrists. I only noticed this when he mentioned pain. Wraps would not fix this. He needed some work on form and posture, building stabilizing muscle etc. But mostly mental discipline, not letting the bar own you, reducing weight if have to. Things of that nature. Like I said, wraps did not fill any of those needs.

Pain is an indication that something is wrong. Either you are performing the movement at a mechanical disadvantage, putting too much stress on the wrist and through the forearms to the elbow joint. Or there is something medically wrong in there.

--The proper plural form of the Latin adjective biceps is bicipites, a form not in general English use. Instead, biceps is used in both singular and plural (i.e., when referring to both arms). The form bicep [sic], although common even in professional contexts, is considered incorrect. (from Wikipedia)
