    8,16,22,28. I use the 22" 90% of the time.

Killer bar. I didn't know you finished it. Do you think Rogue saw it somewhere and used yours as "inspiration" for their bar?

How do you like rotating sleeves? I didn't care for them on my AB T-Grip bar for pressing. Seemed to add unwanted instability. But I wonder if camber would make a difference and add back stability. I liked the T-Grip for curls and rotating sleeves were a positive from that perspective.

Knurling on the Rogue bar makes it appealing.

    Here's Rogue's new bars:

    https://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-mg-4f-multi-grip-bar

    https://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-m...rip-camber-bar

I wish they had a cable attachment point.

I made 2. Other one has angled grips and I use them both. I can't speak to where rogue gets their ideas.
I did not like the rotating sleeves so I actually have a welding tack to keep them fixed. The bushings are in there however, should I change my mind one day.
And yes, mine is not cambered between the grips but I wanted that small offset to make it more stable. Idea which came directly from the kabuki bar. But with my shoulders I saw no use for a fully cambered bar, I wouldn't want the extra stretch. However the offset and the width (grips are 5" long) make it very stable.

Probably not, it's a simple enough idea. I had the same idea that probably pre-dated Mech's creation by a couple years, where the square frame in the center could be removed using pin's and replaced with various grips/widths. Think I might have even posted a drawing here at some point asking for opinions, so they all owe me royalties haha

Anyone can have an idea. It's not really anything until you actually produce something and show it's viable. Just look at flying cars.

Patent offices might disagree with that statement, an idea doesn't have to be in production to show its viable.

Irrelavent statement, you can file a patent on an idea before it goes into production or before you say anything about it on a public forum.

similar yes, but different, yes. I imagine a production price of the Mech bar would be rather high as there's a decent amount of steel and workmanship there. Could be the highest priced specialty bar around, especially with 2022 steel prices

Shouldn't be, it comes in at 55 lbs, so it's similar amount of steel as any other bar.

    Damn. 38mm?

    Duffalo is 32mm I believe.

Aren't the other great squat bars (Texas Squat Bar, Bulldog, Mastodon, Iron Wolfe) all 35mm?

Same length as Duffalo, but I guess they decreased each sleeve's length by 1 1/2 inches? 17 1/2 to 16?

38mm (1-1/2") is the same as the old 14" cambered bar they had at westside. Westside sells a version of it made my sam hell. Bully bar.
It's 1.5" because it's basically just cold rolled steel stock that's bent. So tensile strength around 85,000 psi. But at 1.5" diameter it's really not an issue.

edit: same steel as marrs bar and kabuki transformer bar also.

So comparing it to the duffalo (youtube video does this) is kind of pointless because kabuki uses actual high strength steel. The material cost alone is going to be substantially more.

That being said I would LOVE rogue to make a 14" cambered bar (not the welded rackable crap, like I have now) I could actually purchase locally. It's the one bar I'm missing that I really enjoyed and I can't find a suitable replacement. And I don't have a bender strong enough to make it myself. I did make my own rackable version but it doesn't feel the same.
And supposedly they are also working with Donnie on his "bowfat" bar which is basically a half moon bar. Shipping might be an issue.

Only $25 for shipping was really surprising for a bar like that. I'd love to try one out to see if I'd like one but it's not something worth dropping the money to find out when I am pretty content with my SS yoke for an alternative squat bar.

So the rogue mg-4 seems to be getting bad review by the usual suspects. I do agree it does seem to be very wide. There's a reason I made mine so narrow (5.5"). I really hated the wider swiss bars I've owned. I wonder if rogue will correct in a version 2.

Hopefully. I'm leaning more towards Rep now but more likely saving my money. I want a cambered bar that isn't very wide with decent knurling for rows.

I don't recall the exact width of the REP bar, but I did ask and recall it was under 8".

The knurl isn't very inspiring on the Rep bar. I really liked the knurl on the American Barbell T-Grip. Their Swiss Bar is knurled as well. I wish they'd make a cambered Swiss Bar. Could be pretty great.

Too much knurl on a swiss/football bar is kind of a pain. Because the bar doesn't rotate you have to rotate your hand to get your wrists in proper position. Aggressive knurling causes an issue there as you have to fully open your hand so you don't tear anything. A passive knurl makes it easy to just loosen grip and "slide" into proper position.

A little hard to envision since I haven't used a multi-grip bar that doesn't rotate, but AB's knurl seems ideal. It's definitely more like sandpaper than mountain or steep volcano. Unfortunately, they don't seem to introduce new products very often.

Sorry, I meant the grips don't rotate.

Did you ever make angled and/or fat grips for your multi bar, or change the frame? Did you powdercoat it as well? I remember you posting pics when you first made the bar but not sure if you posted updated pics recently.

I made 2. Both are powdercoated. The 2nd one has 2 pairs of angled grips but they are welded in, not bolted. I also only kept 2 pairs of grips on the first one, which brought the weight to exactly 60lbs. I never used the other ones, no reason to have them in there. I do have fat grips (it uses the same grips as the indexable chinup I made) but I just don't like fat grips on this kind of bar. I do have a commercial football bar with 2" grips and I really don't use it much.

Oh ok, did you post pics of the 2 finished bars? Maybe I missed it. It’s nice you kept the width to a minimum. I’ve tried the kadillac and it’s not too bad (7” wide) but looks like the mg4 is close to double the width of yours (close to 10”).

I wonder what the width on the Rep Fitness one is?

That bar looks like it may be the best of all of them.

For some reason I'm getting: "You don't have permission to access "https://igoodies.000webhostapp.com/?viagra=newattachment.php?" on this server." so I haven't been able to upload new photos in a while. Not sure why.
