    No more Covid Body. Let's get it boyos

    Haven't done a post like this before, but its the first time in my life where I look in the mirror and think wtf have I become.

    Long story short I haven't worked out since March 2020 when covid hit and my gym closed. Ended up canceling membership as wanted to see how it'd play out but haven't been back since.

    In that time I have graduated with a masters degree, started a new job in a new city where I knew nobody and, and broke up with a girl I was seeing for 2 years. Life got in the way and I kinda just got dragged along without being very proactive.

    The result? I picked up 35 pounds of pure lard and have definitely lost a significant amount of muscle mass. Also lost alot of confidence and have become abit of an antisocial recluse which is not the person I am or want to be

    But that ends today. Starting this journal to keep myself accountable and get back in shape. Read it or don't read it, this one's for me.

    Pre Covid stats:
    5'11 175lbs 15%

    Today: 210lbs 30%?


    Cliffs
    Haven't worked out since covid started and gym closed

    Look like chit

    First day back at gym and realized I've not only gained alot of weight, I've also gone weak as chit. Used to do a push pull legs routine, and tried the same today. Big mistake, could barely bench 120 lbs and realized how bad I've become. Burnt out almost immediately and gave up on the routine and just spend the next 30 minutes on the bike. Body is completely so everywhere but in a good way.

    Not my best day at the gym, but its more than I did yesterday so its a start. The plan is to just mess around for the next week or so and get the routine of being at the gym regularly back. Thinking I should get on a 5x5 or something to build up strength quickly. Will evaluate at the end of the week.

    when covid hit, I was so serious about fitness and staying fit that I would jump over locked fences in New York City parks risking trespassing (the police precinct was nearby at Coney Island to boot) just so I could work out doing calisthenics on the bars and ropes. all public parks were locked then (gyms too obviously). fitness ain't easy nor fun. we all find excuses, or we don't.

    Perhaps you should start with body workouts, exclusively. Push Ups, Pull Ups, Sit Ups, Squats, Lunges, Calf raises e.t.c. Of course throw in low weight, high rep dumbbell arm and leg workouts.
