That's a little alarming when you see earth from afar, see how noticeable the eruption is, and realize that an eruption much bigger could happen in another location.

    Ho Lee Chit.

I follow a local weather dood. He pointed out today how the pressure here in PA, thousands of miles away, suddenly dropped. All from the eruption.

That eruption affected the world in one form or another.

The power of Nature. Just wow.

There is so much energy within our planet.

Mount Saint Helens released 24 megatons of energy, 1600 times that of Hiroshima:

Yep several of those mentioned were on the mega disasters episode. Then several of them that didn’t get fuked by the pyroclastic flows and ash fallout got wrecked by Lahars a year later during monsoons and all that ash turns into a raging flowing semisolid that takes out everything in its path.

My dad visited the Philippines a few years back. He has a picture riding a donkey on top of the mouth of TAAL. Dad is a balsy mofo.

And you're right about the ashes and the monsoons. I live in Northeast PA now. The 'worst' things mother nature can throw at us here are blizzards and freezing rain. I always remind myself it could be worse. Like earthquakes, monsoons / typhoons, tsunami, and volcanic eruptions. All too common back in the Islands. And I have seen severe damages from these as a kid.

We all have to remind ourselves one thing: RESPECT NATURE. Dats fo sho.
