Getting back into lifting and coming back on here for support.

I am a 35m who has had a pretty great last 5-6 years getting married, having kids, doing pretty well in my professional life. There is a dark side to all of these accomplishments, stress, anxiety (hereditary and work related), ADHD and overall lack of prioritizing my health. I have been turning to alcohol up until 2 - 3 weeks ago to relax my mind. I knew then and still know now that this is not the way to feel better as it put me in this cycle or more anxiety and stress.

Prior to the last 5-6 years I had a decent workout and diet routine. Adjusting to all the changes in my life now have taken a toll but I am ready to get back to prioritizing my health so that I can give back 100% to the people I care most about in my life, my wife and kids.

Not to make it too long winded, I am looking to get forward to getting back into shape and I know that my expectations have be to different than when I was in my 20's. I am looking forward to working on mobility and functional strength first and foremost and appreciate any aesthetic gains I get along the way.

In the past when I have tried to start on a program and always let myself down by setting my expectations too high for myself. So this time I am going to take it as a win even if I make it to the gym and just sit in the sauna to start building the habit of going in.

I am looking for support from this community but also plan on contributing as well to be an active member of this group. Thank you for taking the time to read all this. Happy Lifting.
