    advice welcome!

hi everyone! so between January and June I lost a lot of weight by drinking less, counting calories and doing loads of exercise - from 79kg to around 62kg. Since June I've been doing weight training about 4 times a week: I've been eating a good carb/protein diet to increase me weight to around 65/66kg and if the Boditrax machine at the gym is to be believed I'm at 8% body fat. But to be honest I'm almost completely blind to progress when I look at pictures so I'd be interested in thoughts / how I can improve - particularly interested in if I need to focus on building up (therefore having a calorie gain) before eventually cutting back to work on abs area?

Ideally you should have done weight training while losing weight - this is because if you don't, a part of the weight you lose will be muscle tissue. But that's something to remember for future reference.

Don't believe any result you get from a BIA machine. You are not 8%, probably more like 15%. Even expensive lab based equipment will not give reliable BF% estimates

In any case, it doesn't really alter what you need to do or the order you do it in - you need to gain some muscle and lose some fat. The approach to both is the same apart from the calorie level. Which you choose next is up to you but don't be suprised if it takes many such fat loss and mass gain phases to get where you want to be, this game takes time.
