Which shoes are suitable for workout at gym?

Can anybody recommend me good shoes for workout at gym? I want shoes that are comfortable, breathable, durable, and not too expensive. I'm also searching for such shoes, and one website was saying the Reebok Nano are good for a workout purpose. Can anybody recommend me a good option in moderate budget? Waiting for your good suggestions.

For all-around gym shoes geared toward general training and crossfit, Reebok Nanos and Nike Metcons are often recommended. Nobull, Inov-8, and Under Armour are some other brands you might check out. I like to order a couple or even a few different pairs from Amazon with free returns and keep the one that fits best.

The key to a weight training specific shoe is lack of cushion in the bottom/sole. Consider your feet are what connect and brace you to the floor, any squish is instability so that is loss of energy in transfer between foot and floor and less weight lifted. For instance olympic weightlifting shoes used to have thin rubber and wooden heel/soles so rock steady (newer ones are similar but not wood). Note that you'd absolutely do no other athletic activity or cardio in such a shoe as it is highly specialized.

For GENERAL training, especially on a budget, you don't need anything fancy and a set of basic sneakers or cross trainers will suffice. Neither long distance running, nor track, nor weightlifting specific so you can use one pair to do anything. Really depends on your goals and training intent but this needs to be said here especially since you are cost conscious.

I will also say that over the years numerous powerlifting records (not proper Olympic style weightlifting) have been set in basic Nikes or general squishy sneakers. Hell, a lot of us wear Chuck Taylors as dedicated shoes on powerlifts and they are cheap - but no squish!!! Westside lifters ran them for years.
