    Does it matter if you split protein throughout the day?

    Does it really matter if you split protein throughout the day or just eating your protien in 2-3 meals?
    why is it recommended to eat your daily protien in 5-6 meals that contain only 20-25g of protien insted of eating like 3 meals with 40g each?
    my goal is to build muscles thx ( :

    The most important thing is to hit your daily target.

    Beyond that, there are some benefits to distributing the intake throughout the day instead of consuming all at once. In this forum we therefore recommend that you distribute your protein intake across 3-6 widely spaced meals throughout the day.

    When you ingest protein a response happens that helps to build tissue in your body.
    The more times you eat = the more times you stimulate that response. This is called protein synthesis.
    At your level (assuming) this difference won't be noticeable towards your gains. But if your metabolism is very high, you may want to consider eating more frequently.
    I for example, eat 2 large meals at 11:30am then again at 8:30pm and can maintain my 225lbs. Give both methods a try to 6 weeks and see what works best.

    2-3 meals is fine... I would suggest 3-4 if possible.

    1 would be quite sub-optimal, but anywhere between 2-5 won't make or break you.
