    Losing the last 20! Help

Hi! I am looking advice on losing my last 15 - 20lbs. I have lost 80lbs about 3 years ago. I am currently 145lbs and am having trouble losing my last few lbs. I eat about 1000 calories. Per day with less then 50gm of carbs. I started this back about 2 weeks ago and have gained 5 lbs. I currently do home workouts bc of my schedule but am willing to squeeze in more gym time if needed. All information and comments are welcome and i thank you for taking the time!!
    I'm a 38 yr old female, 145lbs, 5'5

My wife gained 15lbs during the covid lockdowns, and calorie deficit diet was only able to take down 5lbs of it, where she got stuck for 3 months. She tried keto, and got rid of the last 10lb.

How accurate is that 1000 cals? My first thought is you are eating more than you think you are, or not accounting for every single item you eat.
I will say that the last few are the hardest.
Keep in mind that as you lose weight, your TDEE also goes down, requiring even less cals to be in a deficit.

Best advice I can give is to reevaluate your TDEE; account for every single thing that enters your mouth and no guessing as to how many cals you are consuming; go into an accurate deficit and stay there. Consistancy is king, especially as you get down in weight.

What are you doing for exercise? Not trying to play doc here, but it sounds like the classic traits of insulin resistance. You may want to look into intermittent fasting and possibly getting in complete ketosis for a period of time. I think it will play hell with your energy levels but I have worked with a few people on this and has worked well for them.

Congrats, that's no small achievement. It does get harder the more you lose as your overall TDEE goes down.

This raises a skeptical eyebrow for me. 2.5lb/week is a lot weight to be gaining, that would suggest a 1250 calorie per day surplus and that seems unlikely.

I currently do home workouts bc of my schedule but am willing to squeeze in more gym time if needed.
Working out at home is fine, working out without using weights is not. What do these home workouts look like?

Your BMR calculates out to 1505 even without any form of activity multiplier. I strongly suspect you have some form of tracking problem on either food intake, weight measurement or both.

If I was 5'5" 145 female at age 37, I would probably stop sweating those 15-20 pounds and concentrate on building physique, give it some shape. Which means gaining in some areas, which you cannot do right now since you are continually trying to lose weight.

By the way, when you casually say "15 or 20", just so you know, there is a hell of a long way between 15 and 20.

Keto is good, but, since you mentioned 50 grams of carbs a day, if this is true and accurate, you are already ketonean, or at least in partial ketosys.
