    What to do for freelancers?

I never had any problems with weight until I became a freelancer. I am a designer.
But I work at home. There is a refrigerator nearby and there is no physical activity at all. What to do?

I am a freelancer too. Well its a lot about determination and playing it smart.

I have a refrigerator as well but I keep it empty lol. I mean I stock up on protein, veggies, and fruit. I never buy junk food.

I spend at least 30 minutes 3-4 days a week working out at home.

well you can still go outside for a walk or run, or do some bodyweight exercises at home. i'd recommend hitting the gym to retain as much muscle as possible though

it all comes down to being in a caloric deficit, so it's actually very possible to lose weight even if you do zero exercise

I've been "working from home" for over ten years.

Accountability, willpower and a reasonably structured activity schedule are all you really need to avoid getting fat while working at home.

I work from home as often as I can. And for most of covid I’ve been home.

    Things you can do are:

-Have a schedule. Just like you would at the office. So have a time you start work, have a set time each day for lunch. Put time sets on your meals. Like before you start work make it so breakfast has to be done, lunch is done during say a 45 minute lunch break. Avoid the trap of eating and working at the same time. You’ll end up not eating mindfully or even really being aware of how much you are eating or if you are hungry or full.

Another idea is meal prep. Plan out your week with premade lunches, a snack and breakfast.

If you start to get bored or need to take a 5-15 minute break, try going on a walk during this time, or buy a jump rope.

Ideally try mindfulness while you are have your meals, by eating at the table in the kitchen without distractions and checking in with yourself while you eat. If there is a near by park, try walking or biking there and have your lunch there.

The two biggest things that made a difference for me:

    1. Buying a food scale

    2. Joining a gym

Desk work is terrible for the body (poor posture, late evenings, skipping lunch, snacking on rubbish)

I would say buying in decent foods and having a schedule to eat and workout are a must. And don't miss your workouts due to other commitments and deadlines. Once in a while is okay, but when it becomes a whole week it's a slippery slope, and the work and deadlines will always be there.

I work as a freelancer at a company, but my employer gives me the opportunity to go to the gym. What I am doing.
