    Cut or Bulk?

    Hey Guys, been a lurker for a long time and struggling with my physique. Wanted to get some input from your guys. Should I bulk or cut?

    Like most people, you will ultimately need to do both.

    Muscle gain is the thing that takes longest and ultimately will have the most impact so I think you should prioritise that now. If you cut, you'll just end up looking rather skinny and probably still have no definition.

    It actually doesn't matter which you do first that much, there was a claim made that you must get under 12% to bulk effectively but this has recently been called into question and actually muscle gain tends to be easier when you are carrying a little more fluff - just that you can't see the results as easily.

    Besides, you don't have to "bulk" in the sense of piling on weight and extra fat. Just keep calories high enough to keep making progress with your lifting - if that means you need to slowly gain weight then so be it but many people can gain muscle close to maintenance.
