    Is it worth doing

Ok so ive spent a year and a half getting from 360 pounds to 207. im 6ft i think im arround 17% body fat i started eating 1800 cals for mostt of it with weight training then from 220 to 207 i was eating 1500 with the occatinal cheat day witch would slow me down a bit but they were needed XD i been whight training all threw my whight loss to help with lose skin etc ive put on a little bit of muscle but not much obviously from being in such a huge deficet my question is ive wanted to get down to 190 before i started a lean bulk to 210 as my goal was never to be the leanest just to have muscle and be healthy im thinking of going on a 900cal diet for a week to get down to my desired weight i know its not sustainable im thinking after the diet staying on maintenance cals for about a month so my metabolism will catch up and i wont gain allot when i go to a lean bulk but im worried about loseing what muscle i put on as i worked out 6 days a week to get it reason why im in such a rush is i hear this thing about newbie gains gaining 20 pounds in the first year 10 pounds in the other i dont want to waste it in a deficit if it works like that XD lmao im currently on a push pull legs split will i lose allot of muscle (noticble muscle) doing this. my famliy thinks i should start bulking up now as im looking quite skinny i think i have about 10 pounds of lose skin idk.................... long story short question iss will i lose allot of muscle (noticble muscle) doing a 900 cal diet for a week

I don't recommend trying to lose more than 1% per week. Otherwise some will be muscle

Also, don't need to add on 20lbs afterwards. You will probably still be in the 20+% range (17% seem optimistic given your height, weight and experience level) and your body has enough fuel to grow muscle without piling on weight. You may even continue to lose fat while gaining muscle.

You can't waste newbie gains. If you don't gain because you were dieting, that potential is still - the first 5 lbs of muscle over and above what an average person has is twice as easy as to gain as the next 5 lbs...

im deffinatly 17% if not under i know sounds odd being that im over 207 but when i flex im able to see my biceps and triceps sepration i got the line down the bottem of my chest i can see my lats as i said been push pull legs split for a year and a half just in a deficet im thinking im lighter then 207 with allot of whight loss comes lose skin allot of it in the mid section but yeah i think your right anything over 1% would be muscle witch i really dont want to lose. i played allot of football when i was younger idk if that helped but yeah im pritty confidant im under 20% flat stomach line down middle of chest ive looked online everyone around the 17 to 15% bracet seems to be what i look like muscle wise... id take progress pics since it would help with pepoles advise but lose skin kind of makes me iffffy about takeing any XD

Well it's possible since a sport background can mean you have more latent muscle than an average person.

Post a pic in the BF% estimation thread. They see all sorts, you are probably in better condition than most of the ones they see...

The number doesn't mean that much ultimately, it's more a question of do you like how you look - but they can also give a recommendation whether to cut or focus on muscle gain.
