    "UFC" Brand Gym

Anyone have any experience with a UFC brand gym? They seem to be regarded poorly in other mma forums (sherdog, Reddit - its more like "boxersize" rather than actual training) but otherwise my local one has great reviews, is cheaper than other local gyms with more offerings. Example, mine is $100 a month for the "ultimate" package which I think means I can go to any class and use the workout equipment (although I sent them a message asking how it works specifically). A local BJJ gym is $160 a month and doesn't have additional amenities - its strictly for BJJ/mat time. I specifically want to train BJJ, but if I can mix is some other stuff while I'm at it, I might consider it. I have weights at home, so the gym equipment use is not required, but may be convenient.

I searched this forum and many of the posts are closing in on 5+ years ago. Any recent experiences on these UFC gyms?

depends entirely on the franchised location. some are better than others. I would research the backgrounds of the instructors.

when the UFC gyms first opened I would have said it is really just a boxercise type gym but more and more quality guys are opening up locations with legit classes ran.

It’s great if you are looking for fun and a decent work out. If you expect to learn any type of fighting skills you’re looking in the wrong place though.

The bonus is the weight room so you can lift too.

If you’re any type of decently athletic male I would definitely recommend local gyms though.

Edit: the guy above me is right. But even the best franchised location with legit instructors will still not be as good as your local gym. UFC Gym intentionally dumbs instruction down so you buy privates.

They show people who actually compete out of the gym on their facebook page. I feel like that is a positive. They are significantly cheaper than other gyms (lowest price and no commitment with military discount), confirmed membership includes everything (weightroom, BJJ and any other classes I want). The Black belt actually received his black belt from the other BJJ gym I was looking at. So I might be going with it.

I go to a UFC gym. It's great for a basic commercial gym for regular folks. Most coaches at my gym are former pro fighters/still in the fight game.
