Did anyone use a hand gripper?

I watched a Cailer Woolam video and he uses a hand gripper, among other exercises
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMqRkpZSX4M

I know there are better alternatives in the gym, but I want to use one at the office.
The purpose is to get a stronger grip.
I am somewhat reserved because it is not about gripping or holding, it is about closing the palm against resistance.

    Did you use one?
    Does it work?
    10-40kg is ok, I hope

    Thanks,
"Reminds me of the good ol' days back in 03-04 when ripptoes/5 by 5/hit/doggcrap reigned supreme and you did not need direct arm work for big biceps. Rows and chins were it. "Ever see a guy rowing 300+lbs with chicken arms?". Ah yes those were the days. God bless amusclehead and his twisted one dimensional views along with the rest of the former flock."

Grippers address "crushing"grip strength, squeezing something like crushing an apple in your hand.
Your right there are many types of grip strength including supportive like holding a heavy barbell or thick bars, pinching like holding a weight plate in the hand between the thumb and fingers.
They all hit some form of grip strength.
If you use a gripper and want crushing grip strength i would work on holds fully closed for time.
You may need several strength grippers so you can progress upward.

Never transferred to my barbell grip gains at all.
Not v really the right kind of grip training.

Barbell holds for time did tho, if that matters to your goals.

With grippers. Forearms got a little thicker but got some tendonopathy from over doing it cos they werent giving me anything back.

Ymmv. I've already got 15" forearms.
