Is it okay to exercise other body parts when there is an injury in another part?
For example, is it okay to do a weight leg workout while having a broken arm? Or will it mess up recovery in some way?
I know it can be difficult in some cases like having a sprained ankle working out arms because of fatigue and crutches, but my main query is for the example I mentioned above.
Yeah in general it's fine, ask your doctor. For example, in the early post-op stages of shoulder surgery the surgeon wants joint to heal for awhile before any stress so no running (the jarring from running is the issue) in addition to no weight. Assuming that isn't your case then it should be fine, just make sure you keep the injured joint out of the equation. For example; if your arm is injured you probably shouldn't do squats with a bar, instead do belt squats and have someone help you load weights. Isolateral machines are your friend too.
