Very disappointed with this game. Just got to Act 3 and just gonna finish the main story and uninstall it.
At first, I thought the game was good and was doing everything but the more I played the worse the game got. The main story and main story missions/gameplay is somewhat fun but everything else sucks. Here are my issues w the game
SECONDARY QUESTS- Boring missions and terrible rewards. All secondary quests are ride here , ride there , walk here walk there, find that, track these footsteps track that blood it gets very repetitive very fast and its such boring gameplay. Also i absolutely hate it when the game makes you walk with the NPC having to walk super slow just to extend the length of the game. The rewards for doing the secondary quests become obsolete really quickly as you start getting the same charms over and over and if you do get a unique one they are so **** i can't see anyone using them. I did about 40% of secondary quests and i pretty much unlocked everything useful and just started skipping everything other than main missions.
LOOT SUCKS IN THE GAME - The best weapons and armor you get is from the main quest. Every armor i got from non main story mission i did not end up wearing. I spent 3-4 hours doing a boring ass quest to save those villagers in 6 different farms which included riding the FUKKIN horse so much because they are far away from each other and saving so many villagers that repeat the same lines only to get got an armor that was not as good as the one i got from the main quest.
FIGHTING SUCKS IN THIS GAME - The only fun i had fighting was 1v1 boss fights... everything else you simply change your stance depending on which type of enemy is attacking you and spam triangle. (I unlocked all stances and upgraded all of them so that may be the reason it was so easy).
Anybody else not impressed w the game?

Game was fun but I didn’t like how hard it is to collect ****. Im sick and TIRED of games making me scrap every corner of every level.
Give me the regular upgrades easily and the rest and BEST through hard work. I don’t have so much dam time!
Act 3 was made even worse when all enemies throw poison darts smh-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

LOL you can't just say it's one of the worst takes and leave it at that, give me an explanation why I am wrong, and then ill respect your post. Tell me how i am wrong on this?
1) Fighting sucks do this and you beat the game easily on any difficulty
-You are fighting a guy with shield hold L2 + circle to select stance and then spam triangle
-You are fighting a guy with a spear or axe pres hold L2+ triangle to select stance and spam triangle
-You are fighting one of the big guys hold L2+square to select stance and spam triangle
-You are fighting guy with sword hold L2+x to select stance and spam triangle.
Very deep combat a monkey could do it.
2) Gameplay is boring af you spend 10%-15% of the time using the above to fight hordes of enemies that fit into 4 above categories and look the same... this gets stale fast. The rest of the time is spent on your horse or on foot going from locaton A to location B talking to some npc then going to location C doing some boring task (track the footsteps, find some item, talk to someone , or if you are really lucky fight few of the above boring ass enemies) and coming back to talk to a NPC so they can give you some lame reward like 2x leather, small charm which you already have few of and dont use, and 1% increase to your legend.
Oh and if thats not enough fun for you dont forget you can also follow a fox to get to some alters, find a good area to meditate , walk to an area where you can get in and take a bath , do each of these 20-30 times ....very fun and interesting gameplay.
Graphics are great , main story is alright it didnt really grab my attention much everything else sucks.Atlanta Falcons!!!

I'm just messing with you brah <3
I really liked Ghost of Sushi, that's all. I loved the incredible art, the beauty that they crafted for the world and the landscape, the details of the greenery, the flowers, the forests, everything was perfect in that regard, I got absolutely enthralled and lost just exploring the island.
I enjoyed the combat, switching between the four stances and once you fully upgrade you can bang out some long string attacks. Yeah it's fairly basic but what were you expecting? Street Fighter level 15 button combos? The combat is better than Assassins Creed Origin or Odyssey, The Witcher 3, etc...
I enjoyed the story, even though it wasn't incredibly deep, I still had fun following along with the tale of Jin Sakai.
The biggest part though was getting to play a game set in feudal Japan, as someone who has had a lifelong heavy interest in Japan and it's history it was great for me to experience a game set during that era.

OP makes some good points and how I felt with the game.
Agreed with the secondary quests, loot and even overall story of the game .... It's just not very memorable and some stuff can feel incredibly samey, not much interesting characters and some of the open world stuff is just typical open world bs thats plagued in every other open world.
However I did love the fighting and combat, it was incredibly meaty and satisfying so I have no issues on that end. Overall solid title, with some amazing artstyle, graphics and probably the best game made by Sucker Punch who've really elevated their game since the infamous series. I'm definitely down for a much more improved sequel. It's a solid 8/10 imo.Sig line can't be a novel

My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your post gave me cancer anyway.

Loot sucks? It's not a loot driven game, and I used the side quest armor a lot, forget which one it is but it's full on samurai armor, I think from the farm quests.
Why did you ride between all the farms all at once? All of them were visible for me as soon as I got to act 2 because I explored the entirety of the Act 1 area. Brb fast traveling.
The combat was great IMO, between the special attacks, the charge attacks, the standoffs, swapping out the bow to pluck off a couple headshots, brb assassinations, poison darts, berserk darts, perfect parties, dodges, oh and the stance dancing. Not sure what the **** else you wanted out of the combat. Let me guess, a stamina meter that drains as you dodge roll so you can dodge, then attack 2 times and the let your gauge fill up so you can do it all over again?
I thought the main story was very compelling and I liked the stories youd hear on most of the side quests, though I agree that they got repetitive toward the end.
I'll agree that I hate games that build in fluff such as forcing you to walk in certain areas.
I'm not sure why you're knocking the exploration side of the game, it's a ****ing open world game breh, they're all made to force you to explore the map if you want the platinum.***Mariah Carey is my 10/10 Crew***

What are games that have good secondary quests? What are your expectations for these? They are supposed to be optional for completionists. I hear that complaint about games often but nobody ever mentions games with good alt quests. I am playing AC Valhalla and have the same sentiment, however I understand that these are just like filler quests that are repetitive.

OP sounds like you're just burnt out on open world story games and need to play some Tekken or Dota 2.
The secondary quests were not the most satisfying in terms of a large variety of unique people and schemes happening but they served to add to the tone and setting of the game. You learned more about your companions. It could be improved of course in terms of story but I'm not sure how much variety you could add in a non fantasy world.
It's not a looting game where you grind for a whole variety of loot. There are a decent amounts of sets in the game that give various perks so the idea is you choose the set that fits more with your gameplay. You can upgrade their look and customize the colors. Each set looks very unique. I'd agree they could have added more weapons and armor pieces that have weapon/armor points. So while there's room for improvement I didn't find the system that bad.
In terms of combat I'm not sure what you would add? There's combos, dodges, parries, ghost weapons, and skills that make your attacks more deadly with button combination. It's tight and fluid and feels impactful and satisfying. Can you tell us what combat or move elements would you add? It's not a game with monsters and demons who have different movesets and projectiles to dodge. Could there be improvements? Sure but given the setting I don't know what you really want.
I enjoyed the exploring. I discovered the whole map and there's just a couple things to do for me to plat. It's a beautiful map. This is the first game I'll ever plat.
Not the best game ever but given you're fighting against humans, and the realistic tone of the game I felt like they did fine with the gameplay and story. It could have been better but I felt like this was a SOLID entry title. It was a fun experience for me.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I feel like alot of open world games disguise linear game play in a faux open world. Not saying it's the case for this game, I haven't played it.
But I remember Mgs5 for instance, open world, but between outposts there was literally nothing to do or explore. It's like yeah it was open world.... But not really cause you'd just fast travel around all the time anyways to avoid running giant empty areas. I think alot of games do that these days.Yes... come and let us make an end of it. It matters not, even cornered, to my last breath... I remain who and what I am. I will not hide, nor tremble, nor beg. Let them come and reckon with fury that is DOOM defiant.

MGS 5 was one of the worst open worlds created in existence. One game that should have never gone open world and instead been more like the Ground Zeros where you get big levels that are incredibly dense (dishonored style). This game is one of the better open worlds because there's less "open space" and things are worth exploring and doing, but yeah, it can get a bit tiresome after a while. It's a lot better than the typical ubi open world.Sig line can't be a novel

sekiro isn't a bad game by any means, but i just didn't get hooked on it and dropped it after like an hour. the beginning felt like a slog and i know when you unlock more chit it gets better, but it just wasn't compelling enough especially since bloodborne was the last fromsoftware game i played before jumping in

Good side quests will add mechanics such as the following:
- Mini Games
- Time Challenges (Kill X enemies, complete a course)
- Platforming
- Puzzles
- Collecting
- Lore/World Building
- Optional "boss" fights
- Crafting
The Yakuza series does a bunch of these. Zelda series. The Fallout series generally did a good job of including lore (especially Fallout and Fallout 2). The Elder Scrolls series. Gwent in the Witcher 3.
Fetch quests are the worst culprit, but any repetitive type of quest is a sign of lazy and bad game development.

I could not fukkin do it brahs started playing act 3 and just couldnt force my self to finish ended up uninstalling gonna watch the ending to the story on youtube and sell the game on ebay.
Decided to give Sekiro a try and i swear to god i had more satisfaction/fun playing Sekiro for 3 hrs than I did combined 25 hrs playing Ghost of Tsushima.
I fought the first boss almost beat him on first try like legit left him with 10% hp then proceeded to take another 30 tries before i finallly beat him. The feeling you get from beating a hard enemy in Sekiro makes you feel amazing never fellt like that with GOTAtlanta Falcons!!!
