I’ve been cutting since jan now and it’s going well as have been able to have access to a home gym to help maintain what lean mass I have but have an upcoming issue. Moving back to the UK in a couple of weeks and facing a month or so until the gyms reopen - my question is regarding cutting vs maintaining. Should I continue my cut, given I’ll only be able to do home workouts with a loaded rucksack etc, or should I aim to eat at maintenance for that period, to prevent muscle loss.
I appreciate a lot of people have been forced into home workouts for a lot longer than this, with limited equipment, so I would be very keen to hear your thoughts...
I’ll have access to a door pull up bar, a big rucksack, a picnic bench outside and a 10kg baby.
If you're in cutting mode and it's going well I would say continue on to your goal weight. Make sure you're getting enough protein and fat in and keep working out to the best of your ability with the tools you have. Pushups and lunges are big for me when I have no equipment. Those rubber bands work really well, too.
If it seems you're losing muscle mass given your new environment, maybe go back to maintenance for a bit. Doesn't sound like you have long to wait for your gyms to reopen.
