I like the near 400 hp V-6 and adjustable height. Interior design is very forward thinking as well.
Anyone have one or have any thoughts on it?

The old one is one of my favorite looking vehicles, though I've never driven one, I've always wanted one. I was excited when I found out they were bringing it back to the US, but really disappointed in its design. It doesn't look like the classic at all. The rear end is ok, the front looks like a kia soul.
I wish they had done something more along the lines of a wrangler. No luxury, manual transmission, just the basics, and kept the classic styling.

its an inline 6. They look pretty good in person, more like a new version of the original discovery than defender though. Obviously they are pretty expensive if you option them up but if you are going to actually take it off road and want something premium i think it would be a good choice. Watch Matt Farrah's Video on the smokingtire, he takes it off road and has driven everything under the sun and seemed to like it.

vehicles like that must suck on highways.

Lots of stories of issues on the internet, including sheet metal being so thin that small branches cause dents from parking under trees. Mostly software related though, although TFL is on their 3rd defender after having issues with the first two, including one complete engine replacement, albeit the 2.0 4 cylinder though.

Look what they sell for in the UK. That gives you a good idea of the quality.
