Sony facing class action suit over ps5 controller
Yes... come and let us make an end of it. It matters not, even cornered, to my last breath... I remain who and what I am. I will not hide, nor tremble, nor beg. Let them come and reckon with fury that is DOOM defiant.

Pretty disappointing if sony's controllers are having drift issues, it did seem like like the new technology might have created some issues, but hopefully they get it fixed asap because the haptics and trigger effects are so far beyond and revolutionary than whatever MS did for their controller this gen lol.

How so?
How so? How bad their platform gets? just lmfao, yea PS5 is having a hard time right now.... this stick drift thing which is the exact same problem Nintendo and MS already have is really going to hurt. Things are getting bad. Just lmfao. You haven't had moronic posts like this in awhile. Were you on vacation?

Not surprising, all manufacturers make junk as cheap as they can. I bought a new stick for my joycon but I tried the electronic cleaner before it got here and has worked like a champ since, so I still have a replacement. Nintendo will fix for free, but it's so cheap and easy, I'd rather just do it than be without it for a couple of weeks.
Have people started working on the PS5 controller? Hopefully it's easy to swap out.

Are we still using this narrative when it's already been debunked and everyone almost universally agrees that Sony's implementation of this tech is a step above what the competition is doing?
You had Microsoft passing out a survey the other day asking xboxers if they want haptics for the xbox lol.Sig line can't be a novel

[quote]"As many of you notice in our teardown video, these joystick modules look extremely familiar. You may recognize already it from the PS4 controller of the Dualshock 4. Or from the Xbox One controllers. Maybe the Nintendo Switch Pro controller. Or how about the $180 Xbox One Elite controller. Underneath these plastic caps, the dirty secret is that they're all using the same joystick hardware."

Namely, this $0.88 part called a "potentiometer," which is featured in all of the above controllers and more.
Beyond the part being cheap even without industry manufacturing volume expenses, a contributing factor to the varying levels of wear and drift comes down to human use, which is going to pretty much be determined by the games themselves.
So in part, you can blame all of those developers who have a love affair with mashing in the left thumbstick to sprint, crouch, or what have you because that click-in action puts additional strain on the rings of the potentionmeter. You ever have that feeling that pressing L3 just wasn't... natural? Yeah, neither does the controller.
One of ifixit's proposals to the companies is to make the control stick modules easier to disassemble and replace, and just using better quality materials.I will stand firm, I refuse to kneel - The fury in me is divine

How bad is the stick drift? I've been using the same xbox controller for 2 years now and I really have no issues. There is a slight stick drift sometimes, but it's not noticeable, nor does it affect my gameplay. If it just kept scrolling on one direction then yeah I'd be pretty pissed too. Controller should last 3 years IMO.

My 1708 (late) model xbox one controller started drifting straight upwards in the right stick after 4 months. It's not due to wear and tear from the joystick loosening and leaning either. The potentiometers are simply trash.
Seems like early xbox one and ps4 controllers used the previous gens analogs. Then they switched to the trash ones.no

Joycon drift on the nintendo switch controllers are annoying as hell. Mostly has to do with dirt/dust getting inside that little flap. Some alcohol on a q-tip inside of there then re-calibrate fixes it, til the next time dirt/dust build up happens again.
I haven't had issues yet with my ps5 controllers.. I have two of em, but more likely because its been waiting for games to be released so I can play something.*** Free Thinker Crew ***
