After owning alot of BMWs and Benz from entry level to 5's to S's to AMGs, we now have a Model X P100D and S P100D. I can honestly say they are the best cars we've ever owned. And the charging is not a big deal because you can just install a charger at home/office and charge while you are at work or sleeping.
Anybody who says they are impractical likely has never driven or owned 1.
Also if you live in the US, there are literally multiple supercharger locations in each major city. The tesla navigation accounts for routes with supercharging vs how much range you have and where you would need to charge with a decent amount of safety range buffer.
Ive been driving Tesla's for 3 years and I have never once, found myself almost stranded. I never have to do any complicated planning either.
Just charge it in the same manner you would charge your phone. Your phone isnt 100% battery all the time either, we often go through the day at the start of the day with 80% battery and come home with 30% batter, you still live.
A full charge gets me about 290miles of range (with my wife, kid, radio, AC, stop and go traffic while on the fastest drive mode).
You can charge to 50% in like 20mins which is good for about 150miles in a long range model (not performance model).Last edited by waisoserious; 03-02-2021 at 02:01 AM.
