If seahawks run the ball, Brady's legacy could be completely different

This is an interesting thought exercise

Say Beast Mode runs the ball, scores, Seahawks win (or Russ doesn't throw a pick).

Brady becomes 3 and 3 in super bowls, without winning one since 2005 (3 straight losses).

Assuming he goes back in 2017 vs Falcons - a 3 straight superbowl losing Brady likely doesn't have the confidence and mental disposition to complete the unprecedented comeback against Atlanta - so he loses that as well (now 3- 4 in the superbowl)

2018 was around the time Belichick wanted Jimmy G over aging Brady and was pressured to trade him to SF from Kraft. It's likely with 4 straight super bowl losses, Patriots decide to stay with Jimmy G and trade/release Brady after the Falcons SB loss.

Brady is now 40, has 4 straight super bowl losses, has been released by his lifelong team for a younger Chad qb.....does he now retire? Giselle probably gives him massive pressure to hang it up. How is a 3 SB winning Brady viewed?

Or what if the helmet catch never happened

All pointless conjecture he got unlucky in some and lucky in others, overall 7 is what he deserves and he's the GOAT.

He would have had 6 rings instead of 7. Big whoop, he's the GOAT even if he only had 3 rings.

    This^

    Tyree's miracle catch

Mannings best throw of his life on 3rd and long to Manningham( I think atleast)

If those two plays don't happen Brady has 9 rings instead of 7.

Also - the play that setup the Seahawks was largely due to a miracle catch made by the Seattle WR, I forgot who it was though. Ball literally fell into his lap.

losing 3-4 straight would have changed everything from a front office situation though....

same if Ray Allen doesnt make that shot - Lebron gets booted from playoffs two years in a row on the heat without a title...does the super team break up...Lebron's career would be drastically different

If Tom Brady continues to play at an elite QB level then none of this matters. People were arguing he was GOAT even when he had 3 rings. I was never a Brady is the GOAT guy but his longevity makes him the GOAT, not his rings.

OP making an argument based on "what if." Intriguing.

In addition to all the what ifs to say Brady could have had more rings, don't forget he threw for 3 TDs, 0 INTs and 505 yards scoring 33 points against the Eagles and lost. Add another ring to the list if things would have gone right. That makes him 10/10 in Super Bowls.

If they traded him away he would have won the Super Bowl every year thereafter bringing his total to 10 Super Bowl wins. Would have been considered the GOAT even moreso than he is now.

A few different plays and Brady could have won all 10 as well.

2007--helmet catch by Tyree OR Asante Samuel dropping an INT on that last drive that would have sealed it.

2011--drop by Welker late in the 4th quarter that would have set them up with a 1st down around the 20 yard line when already leading.

2017--Avoid that strip sack at the end and proceed with the GW drive (this one is a bit of a reach I admit, since it was on TB).

But he certainly was a couple plays away from winning 9 at least.

The guy who should get the credit for Lynch not getting the carry in 2014 is Belicheat. He completely flustered Pete Carrol by not calling a timeout after the play on first down that got the Seahawks inside the 5.

Lot of close calls and lucky plays in a lot of Brady's Superb Owls though tbh. Imagine if Kearse didn't make that juggling circus catch to set up the Seahawks in the red zone. The storyline was almost 3 highly unlikely catches (Tyree, Manningham, Kearse) to set up wins in games that could have gone New England's way.

Just playing devil's advocate here, because you can nitpick at luck plays either way. The way I see it is this. Brady underperformed in the 2007 and 2012 games, but he balled out to give his team a comeback against Seattle, so I don't see that game as a detractor from his legacy, even if Lynch ran the ball in.

and as a Giants fan if Tyree doesn’t make a catch he doesn’t make 99/100 times then Brady has an undefeated season under his belt or if Welker catches the ball in 2011

    works both ways

Brady had multiple Super Bowls gifted to him and is extremely lucky, all reasons why he is not the goat. Until Andy Reid’s son nearly murdered a child right before the Super Bowl he did not have one convincing win.

The most impressive was the first superbowl again the Rams way back, but we all know now they were recording defensive signals for years for an unfair advantage

To have multiple superbowls gifted to you you at least have to first make the superbowl

Theres a reason why no other QB has had that many superbowls gifted to them, because they never were in position in the first place

He was lucky, his team put him in a great position to be lucky. His lock ran out when they took away the cameras recording the other teams defense (2 losses to the giant) and when they took away his deflated football (loss to the Eagles). There just isn’t a impressive track record with all the years of astericks

This is no different than had the Astros got away with winning 6 World Series stealing signs. They won one by cheating and are disgraced because of it. The NFL went easy on brady not to risk their Golden boy too much and godell had to be dragged kicking and screaming to even punish Brady in a minor way

If the Astros has won multiple championships they would have been given A pass like Brady perhaps, but he won’t get a pass from real journalists and writers

Are you fukking retarded? (that's a rhetorical question).

The recording you referred to a couple posts above was proven to be a straight up lie. Took away the deflated balls to lose to the Eagles? I'm convinced you don't even watch this game. The stupid deflated balls nonsense was in 2014. After they took the deflated balls away he went on to beat the Seahawks in a 4th quarter comeback then beat the Falcons in an epic historical comeback two years later. So it took 3 years for Brady to lose after "getting deflated balls taken away" and even in that loss he put up an record 505 passing yards.

God you're such an imbecile. You can't even organize your weak, nonsensical, emotional arguments.

2014 AFC Championship. They replaced the footballs with different ones at halftime. Patriots went on to outscore the Colts 28-0 in the 2nd half. This dude doesn't even know anything about what he's talking about.

emotional arguments and cherry picking certain games doe not change the facts

Fact: The patriots were punished for recording opposing defensive signals

Fact: Brady was caught cheating and subsequently suspended for 4 games because of his cheating

The fact that you can't even acknowledge objective truths such as those shows how retarded you are. Another low-info brady dick rider triggered because of his tarnished legacy and a "Your wrong because my opinion doesn't align with the facts" nonsense.

He's not wrong about the Falcons choking the game away and the bad pass that Brady threw to Edelman.

As a Seahawks fan, the Legion of Boom and the defense totally blew this game also. Brady just walked all over them at the end of the game. They should have never put the Hawks offense in that position.

As much as i hate Brady, i will admit we lost because of him, he is the GOAT, and even if the Hawks beat the Pats Brady still would be the GOAT. It sucks admitting this but its the truth....

assuming everything else happens as it did, we'd still be calling Brady the king especially after the Tampa victory.
