You know how it's recommended to never use a brushed automatic carwash because it scratches the hell out of your paint, how important it is to use a car soap with good lubrication, 1 wash mitt per panel, etc, all to reduce how much you scratch the paint.
Well, what about people who live in the snow belt and don't put their cars in garages?
doesn't the snow and ice scratch the hell out of you paint and make all the care those people take of the paint when it's not snowing almost useless?

Not only will it scratch your paint, it will rust the hell out of your car.
I've been preaching for years, don't drive in rain, sun, or snow. All my car(s) are immaculate.
Hand washing with some ONR and car wash soap is probably the best way to wash so that you don't instill a lot of swirls. But the best way to keep clean, imo, is to apply a good wax like 303 graphene wax and clean your car once a week so that the dirt don't build up.Last edited by tunafishha; 02-10-2021 at 04:45 PM.

To an extent yes. The clearing of snow certainly scratches the finish .I paint corrected and ceramic coated my evo years ago and dd’d it all year. Winter driving didn’t introduce anymore swirls than other seasons as long as it was washed properly.

"Because the thing about repairing, maintaining, and cleaning is it’s not an adventure. There’s no way to do it so wrong you might die. It’s just work. And the bottom line is, some people are okay going to work, and some people … well, some people would rather die. Each of us gets to choose.”
