Last week I got the 90's for 2 sets of 7
Looked over at the 100's and knew I could get a couple anyway. I had never attempted them before but as I'm getting older, I thought I better try this now before there's no chance of ever getting them.

I had that 3rd but my spotter jumped in a little early.
Anyway, it's not hyuge but I'm happy with it at 51 yrs old. I was 170.5 lbs

Awesome job on the PR! I've got a pair of 100's in my garage, been sitting there for years and I've never tried benching them yet.
Got a PR of my own today of 37 kg for 5 sets 6 reps @ 154lbs BW. Think that equates to 81 lbs. Want to work my way up to my 100's, which are 45kg, so actually 99 I think. Pic of the brutes below, just sitting there taunting me.
Anyway awesome job, repped.

That's pretty awesome dude. Sometimes I think we get a bit stagnant and think we're stuck a certain weight and then when you start throwing up a heavier weight we end up pleasantly surprised at the ease at which we can do it.
I was db pressing exclusively for years up until a few months ago. I think my best was 170 x 5 typically. I actually decided to switch to barbell pressing this summer since I hadn't bb pressed since I was in my 20s.
After increasing from 185 x 5 to 225 x 5 on the barbell I decided to db press again last week for the hell of it. I was actually worried I might struggle since it had several months... but I actually did 170 x 8 on my first three sets!
I'm actually going to alter my workout to db press once a week now for higher reps and bb bench one day a week for lower.Age: 41
