    Here's My Daily Morning Shake

    Berries, blue and black.
    Avacado
    Sweet Potato
    Carrot
    Celery
    Spinach/Kale
    Ginger Root
    Beat Root
    Oats
    Flaxseed Meal
    Hard Boiled Eggs
    Almonds/Almond Butter
    Whey Protein
    Almond Milk
    Ice

    Makes up to 72 ounces.

    Pound it every morning.

    Work the portion amounts to try and keep it to 64 ounces. Its at least about 1000 calories. Very good Macro percentage spread. About 40% protein, 35-40% carb, 20%- 25% fat. Mostly whole foods, aside from whey protein, very little processed food.

    I won't eat anything again till evening, close to 10-11 hours later.

    I can burn 3500 calories a day at 150 lbs body weight.

    No Bananas! Lol

    Body fat is down in the 17lb range now, thats just under 12%. And falling. I feel I'm borderline keto, if there can be such a thing. Full of energy during day.

    I get plenty of sleep. Workout about 3x per week, Heavy and high intensity.

    I can whip out those ingredients faster than you can fry an egg. Speaking of which, I hardboil a dozen or more eggs and store them in fridge, I use 2 in the shake.

    And just to keep things copasetic with the forum police, 2 scoops of whey protein (thats still considered a supplement, right? I mean, I understand ignorance is no excuse for a crime).

    Guess I'm just poking fun at banana lovers everywhere here.

    I also swallow a handful of pills with the first gulp, most of which are supplementary in nature.

    See, you just had to give me a moment to explain what I was really getting at.

    One of my newer favorites is a CLA/L-Carnitein/Collegen powder, fruit punch flavor. I mix it with daily does of creatine mono. Also stated taking Hyaluronic acid. The cla and l carnitein for fat loss support. The collegen and hyaluronic acid to assist with skin elasticity/loss of excess skin issue.

    Oh wait, here's a good one. My dashboard says I Could gain 28lbs and lose 4% Body Fat in...get this...One Month...actually it said by Dec 17, 2020.

    Lol. Im 58 y/o sitting at 150lbs in the 11's on body fat.

    Now THAT goal really would take alot of (topic not allowed).

    I'm going to continue my program of losing body fat pounds while working to maintain and/or impove strength.

    I'm almost done on my excercise room (a first for me) that I started after canceling gym membership recently. I have a ton of equipment..no literally..
    Well 1/2+ ton at least.

    My goal us to be the fittest 60 y/o guy i see... presumably a mirror needs to be involved at some point, or just relying on window refections perhaps.

    I have tossed around going vegan too. Not sure if I'm ready for that. Ethically I am, but not there mentally.

    Good. You can add cinnamon too for taste.

    I blend all but protein / ice in a Ninja blender on low 2 minutes. Add 2 scoops protein, medium 2 minutes. Add ice cubes high 2 minutes.

    I average 64-72 ounces.

    I often add a heaping tablespoon ground espresso.

    And/or mix with ice coffee rather than almond milk.

    Eating (or rather drinking in shake) ground coffee has a great slow release very unlike drinking coffee. I use Starbucks espresso roast. Strong and finely ground.

    Pounding all that takes a method. 1 12oz glass at a time. The last 2, especially last one really gets you FULL!

    It very often makes me feel suddenly very cold, like I have to throw on my hoodie to warm up. Thats due to blood rushing to intestinal track. Its not a McDonald's happy meal. It 62+ ounces of nutritionaly dense drink.

    Speaking of track, the train immediately pulls into the station after drinking...sometimes while. ie it signals bowels Its GO TIME! LOL

    Then I dont eat for near 12 hours. Come home eat a sensible meal. Im favoring meat/vdgitable suace(like red Italian sauce) on top squash (spaghetti squash). Then a quick snack..cottage cheese. An RX Bar (The Best Bar Out There Right Now). And then bed.

    ...hey, which sup was the issue by the way??

    Was it CLA? L-Carnitein? Collagen?

    I do feel the Skin supps are working, Placebo or not. I have just a bit if saggy skin on belly.

    Yes I have begun ab work in earnest. Next routine cycle ramps up abs and cardio. The waist is pretty much very last spot of visible fat. Abs are begining to show. Im 17 lbs of fat sitting at 150 pounds.

    Not exactly a muscle monster. Lol. But pretty ripped and vacililated(my word).

    I Can Not gain weight without putting on belly fat, then more all around. I can increase strength but always loose a ripped look.

    Right now im benching 200. Some minor nerve damage. Spine us good but I can't push it. Did herniate disc's about 10 years ago, but better now.

    So low weight is the way I'm choosing to go.

    Cholesterol put 3 stents in my main arteries.

    I Do Not want to wind up like my father and get cracked open. He never got supper healthy and fit.

    I'm working a better path.

    I have Huge amount of energy. I move around Fast. I feel Great. I live for my workouts.

    Just finished building a home gym.

    Getting a power cage. I'll also have a pull up/ dip station. Boxing bag. Cardio equipment.

    But Free Weights are my main thing. Usually need At Least 2 days recovery. Often 3, before I can hit my next routine. I lift heavy and hard as I can. Volume and time under tention/form all really important.

    Ok. Gotta go to work.

Even though a fool such as myself, hitherto referred to as "he" knows there's no such thing as Spot Reduction (without latest advancements in surgical techniques as a possible exception). When does your inflated ego come around to a fat reduction my friend? Perhaps if you would slow your speed reading down a click you would have retained my message of working off the LAST bits of fat. Perhaps you dont have experience with that yet. But you certainly do with unsightly sagging skin though. Maybe rubbing a little placebo on that area could brighten up your day. You so seem a tad hostile.

    Anywho, figured I'd actually give YOU a chance to share something worthwhile. Tell us all what magic tricks are in your arsenal, whether supplement, diet, routine. Eww, I know what you could tell everybody about...Creatine!!!! Now THAT'S got some Science behind it!! Look, I get that you are not grasping your placebo from the magic supps you think are actually doing something. You don't realize that collagen (a **** source of protein and a waste of money, just buy gelatin ffs), CLA and L-carnitine don't do anything. Especially not for a non-obese, 150 lb guy.

    If you want to try and flex on someone with your epic knowledge, try the high school gym where you can talk about how cool you were at that age and squatted some BS stat for reps.

    Share what? You came here to post a ridiculous morning shake that doesn't actually do anything nor is it better nor worse than anything else with the same macro makeup. You started spouting broscience BS and we all started to make fun of you. There is no magic. This is simple chit.

    Fat loss = caloric deficit to TDEE. That's it. How you get there isn't relevant. Diet only, exercise only, or some combo of the two will yield results. There are no magic supplements that will make this better nor improve fat loss by any measure you could actually see or tell. So your CLA and carnitine "feelz" are placebo. Congrats on that.

    Hypertrophy is driven by a caloric surplus to TDEE, weight training with progressive volume and getting rest. Sure some supplements may help with meeting macros and creating a better workout experience, but we're talking, at best 5% or less upside, even creatine. If the first stuff isn't on point, the supps don't matter.

    There is no magic. You may want to believe that there is, but there isn't.

    Creatine is great, but again, the upside is small (eg. maybe a rep or two more on a set). Is that beneficial? Sure, for the cost, but if you don't take it, again, you'd likely never know the difference.

    Ahhhh cool. The irony of the guy whining about hostility is trying to throw some current political climate bs into his post.

    The only guy with no substance in this thread is Captain Placebo and his magic morning drink.

    I've had great experience personally with my shake. I was tounge in cheek (what the British refer to as Cheeky) with the bit about Banana. I did not say that the forum's biggest banana needed to reply, but you did anyhow. But thats ok. Im not a bro, certainly not yours. My science would be grandpa science not bro science. And this is not hostility, not even at this point uts more a passing contest, which I'm sure you'd win even a half hour after I downed my 72 ounce liquid concoction because you out bulk me and after all when we do count, that is all that does count.

    So back to great experiences. My morning shake does one thing well, and sorry if I'm repeating now, it gives me what I call a staple. It is in fact highly nutritious, almost entirely whole(food), and has an excellent macro profile. It is the same calories as well as substance that half my day relies on.

    This allows me a constant variable in my diet. I can dial the other half of my day with greater accuracy this way.

    Lucy, you don't need respond here, I'm sure this topic rings loudly of some sort of science too.

    I've adopted apple cider vinegar supplementing recently.

    Along with narrowing my calories to higher quality foods, I have also begun a new routine of intermixed weight training sets with abdominal sets(which can be considered weight training too if course), and cardio sets. With very little rest between sets. This in order to increase intensity. And intense it is. At times pushing myself to nausea.

    I know this is nothing new, but I am coach less and must self motivate.

    My motivation is to fall below a certain body fat % while attempting to maintain as much mass/strength as possible. Im closer than I've ever been to this goal. Its not what one would call a bodybuilding goal because I'm not bodybuilding. That requires bulk and cut and in my opinion, the average male not to mention the average male pushing 60 such as myself, in order to have good success in bulking/cutting needs daddy's litte helper.

    Me, if I bulk, I do get bigger. I do get stronger. And I do get fatter as well. I could cut then. But I would loose all that I gained and just be back where I started.

    So looking good has become something I Can achieve. My abdominal are begining to grow. I have layed off working them for years now.

    But recently have begun the body fat reduction trip. It is quite a bit more than just simple calorie reduction. Especially again, hate to keep harping on this but...when you're pushing 60. Marcos is really the term to focus on.

    I'm also on the calorie kick though. Of course high intensity training dies cause the body to crave calories. I can only handle training 3 days a week. Though I'm thinking if training abs and working cardio in "off" days too. But I'm working calories from both ends if the stick. I aim to burn 4000 calories a day. If I ran or swam laps daily that might be easy, but I don't.
    What i should do i start Bicycling again. I have an indoor cycle machine i use. But I haven't road biked in some time.

    But I do a Lot of steps in a day, my job involves a lot of walking. So I'm able to get calories burned. Focusing on burning calories has become as important on intake calories. And again, those intake calories simply can not have any room for empty calories. God I can't tell you how often people ask me if I want to share their snack, candy, chips, ect, ect. Lol

    And yes I do try Secondary supplementing such as CLA, L Carnegie, and now ACV too.

    Caffeine is big on my list. Did I mention i put ground coffee into my shake too. I never heard of someone doing that. Anywhere from one to three tablespoons. The slow release is interesting. The jury is still out on how that may effect the intestinal track. I think its OK. Though I can testify the grounds come out after being brewed by your digestive system. Too much information? Ha, figured someone out there may actually be interested.

    Ok group, I'll let you know how well I succeed. I'm definitely solidly in the 11% body fat bracket now. I'm thinking just at 10.0 or perhaps high 9's. Thats tough but I'm headed there slowly. Increading intensity, calirie burning, incorporating more diverse routines, and creating more Staple diet fir the entire day.

    Wait, it really is not fair continuing this thread without some sincere consideration of sheer supplementation. So in order to keep things copacetic I will offer my review of recently purchased Optimum Whey Protien, the Banana flavor.

    -Profile 9, can't go wrong here, hey its not popular due to chance.

    -Mixability 7.5, I have found other whey proteins with better mix ability but this one is still good. Real teat is when used in a portable shaker.

    -Cost, definitely not the cheapest, but still a good deal. When on sale an excellent deal.

    -Taste, here we have a winner !!
