Belichick went 3-1 with Brissett when Brady was suspended and won 11 games with Cassell (don't bring up the fact they won 16 games the year before and still missed the playoffs). I think Belichick was hoping to find a QB that he could bring in for cheap and still be competitive. Unfortunately, Cam isn't that guy and I don't think he anticipated the defense regressing as much as they have (they had a large number of opt outs this season that you couldn't plan for).
If anyone thinks Belichick isn't the GOAT because of this season is a homer.
Anyone who actually watched Brady last season knew he still had enough in the tank to do well and now with a Tampa Bay team who is really playing well, it's not surprising he's doing well.New England Patriot

He's never going to light up the rankings for passing because running is a big part of his game. But looking at his averages over 8 seasons.
On average, 4000 total yards per year, 30 TDs per year, 13 INT per year
Compare that to Matt Ryan: 4350 total yards per year, 28 TDs per year, 12 INT per year
