So Trump ended the one on one with dignity tonight...

I had Biden living in the past for the first hour of the debate as he got off to a slow start about how donald handled the virus...

it was more of same as he had no plan and was repetitive.....generic to say the very least !

to be honest the "health care issue' was above my head because I don't care.....it doesn't concern me because I pay for mine............and frankly it's a "dog eat dog" world we live in !

and while I think AOC is a looker and an idiot....I do like the idea of being totally independent of oil for transportation by 2035 which bidan was defending...

it was civilized and that's a good thing, and I think trump drove home his points better than Joe did..

still voting trump, but I'm all for all electric cars and fuking the **** out of AOC in the back of one

Trump did a good job of not getting hotheaded and I think the rules of engagement acted in his favor. I would call this one a tie.

I think it went well for both, I think Biden got Trump really good with the "This guy is confused he doesn't know who he is debating, you are debating Joe Biden" that was great!

As a life long Democrat, I have to say I was on the fence going into this debate. But after last night, the choice could not be clearer. Biden looked lost, stumbled all over the place, and got exposed with the "play the tape" line. His family issues concern me as well. So with that said, I have decided not to vote Democrat this year. There is too much at stake to risk putting power into the hands of radicals and a man with dementia. So, Trump 2020!

If you put together all the mumbling and fumbling for words, I'm sure that you'll have 1-2 minutes of babbling. Remember in 1980 how they talked about Reagan's age? And he was only 69. Joe will turn 78 in November (and yes I know how things turned out for Dutch near the end of his second term)! I think Biden is compromised now, and it's impossible to predict how far he could regress in the next four years. And could the stress and strain of being POTUS exacerbate this? Possibly.

I watched some of this, granted I dont know much about the US political system either but I cant get over the age thing, does that not worry enough people? In the US Does the President have to take the "floor" of congress in an open discussion like the Parliamentary "question period/time" every week? I think either of these two would get shredded facing the "opposition" for a prolonged period in open discussion. Neither of them come off as focused, witty, energetic and articulate either. IDK

Joe Biden was born 11 months after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. He was eligible for retirement in 2004. He's the same age as Mitch McConnell, two years YOUNGER than Pelosi and 9 years younger than Dianne Feinstein, who, at 87, has 4 years left on a six year term that she will (hopefully) end at the ripe old age of 91. These people should be napping quietly on the couch, not running countries.

:Edit to answer your bolded question i initially missed:

No the President doesn’t. In the Westminster system, the Prime Minister and other government ministers are members of the executive who also sit within the legislature.

In the Westminster system, separation of powers between the executive and the legislature is highly blurred. While Prime Ministers are less prominent than US Presidents, they are more powerful than the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, despite similarly being the leader of the majority party in the lower house, because the Prime Minister is the leader of the country in a way that the Speaker is not. Therefore in PMQ, the Opposition is able to question the leader of the nation, who is also a member of the executive.

In contrast, in the US there is a strong separation of powers. The President as the head of the executive branch does not sit in Congress. When outlining the nature of Congress, the Founding Fathers were very concerned about the power of the executive and keeping it adequately corralled into its own limited sphere of influence, because they saw it as the executive, in the form of royal power, which was responsible for the tyranny that they rebelled against. The reason the Prime Minister is part of the executive in the Westminster system is because they are exercising the sovereign's executive power on the monarch's behalf and request. America was looking for something far removed from the British system, and so ended up with a highly separate executive branch. The President is the leader of the country and a member of the executive in a similar way to the Prime Minister, but since the President does not sit within Congress, they can't be questioned in the same way that the Prime Minister is.

The President does give a State of the Union address to Congress, so this can be seen as a political sibling of Question Time, though obviously the President does not respond to questions on the floor.

That is certainly more info than you wanted but I’m bored.

As 7 answered No, but have you ever heard the bumbling buffoons on both sides of the aisle in both houses? By and large a lot of them are fukkin morons who have their staff do everything. Just look up Hank Johnson "Guam" on youtube for a good damn laugh, he has to be one of the dumbest people on this planet yet somehow managed to get elected numerous times.

Trump is very energic, he so energetic that the opposing side calls him unstable. Trump had to play it a bit cool this time.

Btw when Trump first started winning, he had to go campaign in Chicago one of America’s most dangerous cities, there was a large anti Trump group blocking the entire area, Trump got out of the car and jumped over walls to get inside the place.

Obama maybe could run, but all runners do is runaway.

I was just watching 'CBS News Sunday Morning' and a Trump ad came on with a video of Joe Biden saying he (Biden) was going to raise taxes. The part when he said 'on people making over $400,000 a year etc.' was cut off, though. Made me laugh.

    Edited for clarity.

Good, also all Joe and Harris can say about the virus is science. I read an exercise science article that states people with COVID who have built stronger cardio vascular systems from exercise are far less to be hospitalized.

Joe must not of heard this because he picked gyms that he would close during that debate.

I love the idea of alternate forms of energy. However, our current technology isn't there yet. The rare earth metals we have to mine to make those things are far more destructive than the current fossil fuels we are using.

We aren't ready yet, but the politicians don't care, because it doesn't affect them and they believe people aren't smart enough to do their own research.

These Administrations come in with these 10 or 20 year plans knowing full well in 4 or 8 years another guy is going to come along with another plan. When the plan changes we have a bunch of wealthy politicians in congress on our payroll debating the new plan for 2 years then creating more bureaucracy to implement it.

Look, oil comes from decomposing dinosaurs, I haven't seen a lot of dinosaurs running around lately so yes we're going to run out of oil. We're not going to run out in our lifetime, but yes we need to slowly adapt for that, it's not a jobs issue, when there's no more oil, there's no more oil jobs, it's that simple.

    Edited for clarity.

We all know he means that (over 400,000) however we also know that it will still affect everyone. There should only be a flat tax for all. Even the rich would pay their fair share on 10% so that means 100,000 tax on a million, that is a hell of a lot, that's called "fair share". 400,000 would be 40,000 that's plenty, its greed to demand more, I'm against it.

You don't actually believe that do you?
You honestly think all these dinosaurs died and are somehow buried thousands of feet below the surface yet we find dinosaur fossils close to the surface?
Can I bury a cat and put it under intense heat & pressure and make oil out of it?
Not to mention we are getting millions of barrels of oil every damn day, how many freaking lizard kings would it take to make that amount if it were true?

Yes, that's kind of how it works. It's called the biogenic theory. Bury your dead cat, add 100s of thousands of years and pressure, use cat oil to power your flying vehicle

Its likely true that its not exclusively dinosaur, cat, or Arab goat shti though. Plankton is the likely the main source. It's also thought the earth does contain some petro not formed by dead things but the supply is not infinite. Consumption will eventually out pace production. Who knows when though.
