Post Med (Ai) Research - about your workout & injuries

    Greetings,

I am 4th-year Medical Student and a lifelong athlete. I am on a mission to create a virtual tool that would be a gem for individuals like you and I - who wish to extend their time in the gym and maximize performance in their sport, all while mitigating risk of injury.

I formulated a research project using latest innovations in Machine Learning (Ai) to study the patterns & specific correlations between our choice of sport, physical activities, and sports-related injuries.

Upon completion of my research, I will provide our community with my analysis and hopefully a tool that would allow us to structure our workout/training plan such as to minimize incidence of injury.

NOTE: I don’t run ads; I don’t need your email or personal data!

I simply ask for ~5min of your time to answer some questions about your training regiment and injuries.

Thank you kindly for your time,

    Igor Savchuk

Just out of interest, why do you need AI (by which I assume you mean neural networks). I would expect that fitness related metrics have fairly simple relationships between each which mostly meet the criteria of simple correlational analysis or linear regression (data is not BLUE?).

NN sounds like it would just overfit like a b*stard

ML using linear regression would allow for dynamic analysis of which movement types (+ frequency & load) are worst exacerbators within a complicated workout regiment. More importantly, it will allow me to create an output tool that permits us to input a would-be workout regiment and have the AI algorithm calculate the relative predisposition to injury. And at the very least, it simply saves time and cost in doing the statistical analysis.

Awesome. I am filling in the survey

BTW: Q 6 - your "best" weight - does this mean lightest or heaviest? Fat loss oriented people might assume it means lowest

Thank You good sir. I'll add a clarification to that question based on your suggestion -- it implies weight closest to your ideal (at which you achieve best performance)
