    Hogan vs Austin

Would Hogan have put Austin over in the same way he did with Rock?

Or: That doesn’t work for me, brother.

I don’t see Hogan ever putting Austin over as there’s so much debate about who was The GOAT.

they both talked about it and austin said he thought the match wouldve not been up to expectations cause he didnt think he could work a good enough match, when really i think he was afraid of being boo'd outta the building, Rock could handle that stuff and role with it but seeing how Hogan was still getting god like reactions during that whole thing this is something ive always felt Austin didnt want no part of..and there certainly wasnt a push from Austin to get that match made unlike Bret.

Could u imagine Hogan being that over in Toronto over austin??? theres no way steve was gonna embarrass himself like that, Hulkamania wouldve f*cked steve up mentally in that feud and in that match..

I never really imagined it that way, but I Austin Is right it’d be a bad career move.

Austin walked out of wwe back when Vince wanted him to put Brock over of course.

To be fair, the crowd going nuts like that was not expected. You can see it takes Hogan and The Rock by surprise. I bet you a million bucks Hulk was never supposed to Hulk up (he was still Hollywood Hogan there), but did it after he saw the crowd's reaction.

Could you imagine if the Hulk won after that Leg Drop? Holy crap Toronto would've burned to the ground.

I think the more likely explanation was in the OP - neither wanted to do the job. Hulk didn't view The Rock in the same level as Stone Cold, so he was able to lose.

It's like Stone Cold vs. Goldberg. Neither would want to lose, and WWE wouldn't let SC lose anyway.

excellent points, u know because of the epic stare down where both heads was looking the opposite way i do still think they expected a monster reaction but it is what it is, when u said hogan didnt view Rock in the same way he did Austin really makes me think.. maybe he sure as hell didnt view the rock as he did Austin..

they shouldve SOMEHOW did austin vs goldberg in some weird way where it ends in a huge riot with others jumpin in or something, f*ck that wouldve been cool!

austin had a bigger ego than the rock. the rock was a bigger "star" but austin was a bigger draw in wrestling. rock came from a wrestling family. he understood what it meant to do business. his dad brought home some bigger cuts of meat in the 80s bc of hogan. a lot of his family members ate better bc of hogan too. rock was never afraid to put someone over or make them look good and in a lot of ways, hogan was part of his extended family.

austin was a mark. it happens to a lot of top guys. hogan was a mark too. rock wasn't.
i like the one that says "some pulp".

Exactly how I saw it. Hogan didn’t view Rock as GOAT threat, so was OK to put Rock over.

I think Austin didnt trust Hogan either. Hogan might have tried to change the ending on the day.

Austin was crazy over during that time. However, Hogan is Pro Wrestling. Takes me back to the beginning of WM XXX when Hogan, Rock, and Austin were drinking in the ring. Austin said, "I have a legacy to protect."

Hogan to kick out if Cena’s AA then Hulk up. Hulkster to give Cena the big boot, hit the leg drop, then get the win.

Or Hogan to make Bret Hart tap out.

    Either fine for me.

hogan was pushing for the match back in 2006

he said he would have done the job

austin didn't want to do it cause he thought the match itself would be chit
