Question Should I drop my online coach??

Hi I'm currently being coached by Chris "beastmode" Jones and I am seriously considering dropping his coaching since his programming makes no sense to to a beginner like me and I have been disliking the gym lately with the current programming. Pre-Covid I was doing an upper/lower 4 day split and I actually quite enjoyed it a lot but Chris's programming is like an old school bodybuilding routine with upper/lower-monday and tuesday, chest & delts & triceps Thursday, back & rear delts & biceps Friday then finally lower body Saturday. The current split only includes bench and squats but mainly in the 8-10 rep range which seems boring to me since I enjoy lifting challenging weights for 4-6 reps mainly??? I am also doing a slow lean bulk and recomp since I'm 19, 5'8 and only 147lb. Any feedback would help on what I should do with my coach.

Can't make a judgement purely based on a split because splits actually don't matter that much. It would be entirely possible to construct a reasonable program within that framework.

Didn't you talk about your goals before hand?
It sounds like you want more of a strength type plan than hypertrophy.
You also need to ask a lot questions about why your doing certain things.
How long have you been with this coach using the protocol he gave you?
It needs to be at least three months of study hard training to determine results.
If i was the coach and found you were asking this behind my back i fire you as a client JMO.

I have great respect for Chris as a personal trainer, I just feel like the workout split isn't giving me a chance to increase my strength and is taking up alot of my school time which should not I'm still a beginner.

    Rippetoe 3x5 or Stronglifts 5x5.

Due to these programs I've achieved a 416lb squat, 465lb deadlift and broke 2 plates on the bench.

I've also one a one arm power clean with 135lbs...
