One on the ways I have been staying sane during this crazy stuff, is my son and I have gotten very active in our local car community. We have been hitting meets just about every weekend. Mostly informal, but some drawing 300-400 cars on a regular basis. Since we have no soccer, it is always something fun for my son and I to look forward to doing.
At a recent meet a very nice younger girl photographer (early 20's) asked if she could do a shoot of my car. Never did anything like it, but figured 'what the hell!'. Anyway, it turned out awesome.
I know there are some car guys in here that will appreciate it. Really impressed at how nice a job she did. She really has a talent and a great eye.

Love it, ID. Very nice Gallardo. Your photographer is talented.
Less glamorous, but here are a few pics of my Gallardo when I picked it up. I sold it since, but it got a lot of looks.

Very nice! Is that a matte black wrap on top? I LOVE cars w/ matte black wraps, but I would never probably have the balls to do it to one of mine. Saw an Advantador done that way and it was stunning!
The girl who shot the pics is very talented. It is not her full time 'day job' but she is gathering quite the volumes of work and I think if there is a living that can be made professionally she certainly has the talent for it. It is a big commitment to make the leap, but when you are young is always the time to try before you get the things in life that hold you back.
It is never lost upon me how cool the world is and what a great place this can be for young people with ambition and drive. It was really cool and I got to share a lot of stories with her. I have had my strange share of experience along the way. I could really relate to being young and taking a swing at things. It would be awesome to see her make it!RAW lifts

Yes. Matte black wrap on the hood, top and couple parts in the back. I never saw another one like it and that was one of the reasons I got it. Looking at a Porsche GT3 Touring, but in no rush.
I think she could make it by doing those car meet-ups and in-person marketing.

GT3's are one of my sons favs. Here are some pics from recent meets! The blue one I just saw yesterday for the first time. My son and I love to go around and check all of them out. One local guy who is a car nut, handed my son the keys to his GT2 RS....that car was freaking crazy!
Also a carrera GT showed up a while back!

A few of my buddies have RS7's. One guy is going stage 2 all way around. Currently putting 640 to the wheels, and getting ready to upgrade turbos with meth. Shooting for 800 wheel HP. The crazy one is the red one. It is straight-piped also
Its funny getting see how many cool cars there are out there that I never noticed before. I really cant pick any favorites. My buddy bought a JDM rh drive Honda NSX which is pretty cool too!
Always fun to see just what will pop up at the next meet. The cool thing is all the people are super cool and my son feels right at home and it makes for great mornings, just hanging out with the 'guys'.

I love the rs7 but could possibly justify the rs6 wagon to my wife as "practical" lol
Tbh it would be a step down from my 5.0, I did an E85 tune on it and it's pushing over 750 at the wheels now lol
But the RS6 has always been a dream car of mine because its been unavailable for so long here and I love monster wagons

Not only that, RS6's have 'cult' following and you will never have trouble finding a home for it if and when you move on. I think the whole 'shooting brake' thing is almost a cult!Guy in our local group has an Z3 'clown shoe' which people go nuts for.
That is definetly a cool car, but these days, I am over the idea of trying to find 'compromise'. Like the high perf suv's...etc. I just dont get into them. I miss my mini van, but replaced it with a KIA Sorrento for soccer field running and family trips. It's perfect. With the gallardo, there is zero practicality to it at all. 9-10mpg, loud, and no room for anything. (although mine does have the rare single cup holder option (srs)
I say buy a practical car, and then something stupid if you want something to play with. If my budget were lower, I could see having just as much fun with some JDM stuff, or even a fun LS swap project.
My son is only a few years away from driving and I am leaning towards a fox body project. He wants to learn on a manual car. It is either that or go Jeep.RAW lifts

Some real nice looking cars gentlemen, lots of horsepower being mentioned. Do you ever drive them like they were meant to be? If so where? What's the fastest you ever had them going? Lots of questions because I went from motorcycles to 4x4's by passing the car thing

For me, I didn't have my Lambo that long. But, I just drove it on weekends and kept in garage. You just have to learn to deal with bugs and an occasional rock, even though it is psychologically traumatic
The Lambo was so low to the ground, I only drove it on the highway mainly. Porsche 911 isn't that low unless you get into a lowering kit, but the Turbo S (standard) and GT3 Touring have optional lowering systems. For me, I am at the age that I don't need to make a 911 lower, even though it looks good. Too easy to damage costing thousands.
**No doubt the teens like your car. I do and I'm not a teen, lol.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

My brother wanted a new C8 hard top convertible but no dealers can reserve spots yet. One dealer had taken his order but had to call and say they cant because GM will not allow them yet.
The Sales guy told him they just took in a Z06 w/ Z07 package (carbon brakes and a bunch of extra carbon stuff). Car only has 2500 miles. It is a manual trans car.
I looked nation wide and there are only like 7 for sale. (not a common package). Anyway, he pulled the trigger today and bought it home. It goes nicely next to his 57 which has been in my family for 50+ years and is now his. That car had a full restoration and is all numbers matching. Won the Chips choice award at corvettes at carlile and has been featured in several mags.
So he will have this and wants to order a Z06 C8 when they come out.
Anyway, quite a difference that 60 years of development can make.

It is funny. It just kind of fell in his lap. I dont think he expected it to be such a MONSTER!
Man, your son is a BIG boy! Wow....I remember you posting pics what seemed like not long ago and he was a young boy!
Excited for my brother. He went through a bad divorce and in NY got shafted with HUGE child support for many years. His boy are now grown, and he can finally do something for himself. But he was still unsure and I had to egg him on a little!RAW lifts

Must be cool to have a dad with some fun toys! The 370 is a cool car. It is a popular car in the tuner world for sure. But that Z06 is over the topRAW lifts

Good size gathering tomorrow am near my house. Excited for some great cars! A couple weeks ago, I was out on a cruise with my son and up ahead I heard....something. Mind you I was going 80mph on the highway with the top down...so whatever it was, it was LOUD.
I changed lanes and it was too far away to see. I saw a hint of orange, but I knew from the sound, it was something worth going up to take a look.
I caught up to a wonderful Aventador. Beautiful car. We got off on same exit and I manage to snap a pic.
Then as fate would have it, I saw him last weekend, but this time he was driving a 488. His buddy had a 488 Pista!
Super nice guy....I am hoping he brings the Aventador tomorrow.
