    Barbell form

Took a video from behind just to see what was going on. I never seem to feel rows in my back. Also my back is lacking in development regardless of heavy dead’s, rows and pullups. Perhaps someone can point out a form issue.

    Keep going....

    Big 3
    Bench - 265
    Squat - 260
    Dead - 415

At least you are doing rows! Many guys don't and end up shallow/thin when they turn sideways. You seem to be holding your form pretty strict for rows, so no major issues. Lengthening your range of motion might be the only thing to consider - stretch at bottom and pull back and higher at top. Have you tried going heavier? Your lower back may be a limiting factor, but you should be able to row about what you can bench. l usually do higher reps (8-12) for rows, so don't go as heavy for rows as I do for bench. Also try variations like the Pendlay row, its a wide grip variation that isolates the back/lats and lessens the lower back/arms impact. Also, Kroc rows with heavy dumbbells are great as well. I would still do chin/pull ups for width in addition to rows for depth. Good luck and enjoy the journey.

What helped me feeling rows more is widening my grip. I was watching this video from this old school bodybuilder, forget this name, and he said approach the barbell row like you are bench pressing as far as grip. Huge difference. To me your form looks good, I pull up right below my rip cage as well and concentrate on the squeeze. As Congore already mentioned get more of stretch at the bottom.

Thanks guys. My row strength is nowhere near my bench strength. Max bench is 265. Max row is 225. I have always had strangely proportioned strength attributes. I can pull 455 on dead raw. I just feel like I should have better upper back development. I will have to try further extending during the eccentric.

Personally when I started dropping weight and concentrating more on the form and mind-muscle connection, i did start seeing better results, not that's saying much, ha!

Try pendlay rows for awhile, stopping each rep on the floor, then tensing you upper back and squeezing at the top then reset. I find those help me get back into the groove more. Form looked fine on them, but for whatever reason rotating pendlay rows in helps me feel conventional BORs more where I should.

Don't see any problems. Probably need to change the Set/Rep to find what your body needs. Try higher reps, more frequency.

Can you do a video with a sideways view? Hard to tell in that angle.
