Can someone tell me how Kurt Warner is in the hall of fame

Yes I understand he was part of the greatest show on turf but he had like 5 good seasons in the NFL and was hurt most the time. His had some of the GOAT weapons ever with Torry Holt, Issac Bruce,Marshall Faulk and Orlando Pace,Larry Flitzgerald, Anquan Boldin. All these players deserve to reach the hall of fame before him.

He was putting up the big numbers before it was cool. Took his teams to 3 Super Bowls in 10 years. His 1999 season alone was enough to put him amongst the GOATs. All of this coming after spending his prime years literally bagging groceries and playing poverty level football.

Just off a quick glance at his career stats:

    1. He had six "good seasons", not 5. 20+ TD's was actually good production at QB for a while there, 25+ and you're getting into top 5, or even top 3 territory. That was the landscape for most of his career.

    2. 3 SB appearances with 2 different teams, 1 SBMVP, in 11 seasons, I'd say that would make him an extremely fringe candidate.

    3. As stupid as it is in the big picture you have to take off-field perception into account. Warner is a nice guy, did lot's of charity stuff. In contrast, Terrell Owens is the 3rd best WR of all-time and still waiting to get in. It's stupid but it does factor in.

I don’t think you understand how inept of a franchise the Cardinals were prior to Warner’s arrival. Also, the Panthers had been to a super bowl prior to Cam’s run and were always competitive under John Fox. Go back to your Clay Travis shrine buddy.

    Bc he was good.

Why do we have to bring up players he played with when it comes to talking about these types of players? All great super bowl winning players played with other great players. One doesn’t simply win a super bowl with a 22 other scrubs. That’s literally one of the worst arguments I see people make.

Gonna be way too many qbs in the hall from this past era.

    Peyton
    Brady
    Favre
    Warner
    Ben
    Brees
    Rodgers

    Eli
    Rivers

And if Eli gets in it's a joke. Cause mcnabb was better. So was McNair in his prime.

NFL hall of fame is little different than baseball and basketball since careers are far more likely to be shortened due to injuries.

A couple high quality seasons, (2 x MVP, Super Bowl MVP) may be enough to get you in.

There's kind of a silly benchmark they use which is "Can the story of the game be told without him" and with Warner...absolutely not. You cannot tell a story of NFL football in 90's/2000's without focusing on Kurt Warner.

So what? All it takes is a couple good drafts and decent off season acquisitions and you’re right back in the middle of it. See 49ers two years ago to now.

Lol yeah, all owners / front offices are equally good at their jobs. which is why I would put money on 1 of the Lions, Cardinals, Bengals, Browns, Chargers, Jets, or Jags to win a Super Bowl in the next 3 yrs

There's kind of a silly benchmark they use which is "Can the story of the game be told without him" and with Warner...absolutely not. You cannot tell a story of NFL football in 90's/2000's without focusing on Kurt Warner.
This is a good way of putting it. You absolutely can't mention the greatest show on turf when describing late 90s football. You absolutely can tell the story of the last 10 years without mentioning Cam Newton.

Gtfo this isn't a race issue. Dude had stack squad and lost his job to Mike Bulger and Eli Manning. I believe Eli Manning Deserves to get in but the media probably won't put him.in because they like to bash him. Warner is a golden boy that is protected

Another good example is Marshawn Lynch. Dude only had a couple really productive seasons (had some lackluster years in Buffalo before, and then injuries on tail end of career). But can you tell the story of 2010's football without Beast Mode? Absolutely not. For at least two-three seasons he was THE premier power back, dominated a lot of the league narratives, and was somewhat of a cultural icon. Beast quake run, super bowl win, the drama, not getting the ball at 1 yard line etc etc.

He may make the HOF, even though on paper just looking at stats its sort of hard to quantify that he should.

Only in terms of super bowls. You wouldn't mention him in putting up huge numbers or dominating the league.

He's absolutely not a lock 1st ballot, but I think he'll get in

Eli will get in. Same thing. Can't tell the story of the NFL without mentioning Eli beating TB two times in the super bowl. He's in.

Eli is like top 5 in most Major QB career passing stats. His career was statistically better and has more superbowl
