Tendonitis eccentrics rehab - is pain expected?

    i have tendonitis like everywhere.

ive been doing eccentrics for the past week to strengthen and rehab the tendons just like both broscience and real science from published research says i should do. the only problem is, it is actively aggravating the tendonitis and making it worse. way more lasting pain than pre-eccentrics. is it supposed to be like this? the internet says eccentrics make it worse before it gets better and youre supposed to work through the pain before it starts working but i just find that hard believe with how much pain the eccentrics are giving me. has anybody done eccentrics to rehab tendonitis, and if so, did you have to work through pain before it got better?
