Ok this Jordan **** riding needs to stop

Best player of all time no doubt but no way in hell he would average 45-50ppg in todays era
Espn also saying Jordan would be a great shooting cause he had a three year stretch where he shot 43 percent. Are we seriously not going to forget that the 3 point line was moved closer during those years lmaooooo

    tend to agree

Averaging 40-45 today is borderline impossible. Durant and Giannis were created by scientists and i dont think they could do it

Maybe not but Jordan only averaged 8 free throw attempts per game. He would have way more today.

Lebron since 2016 has averaged the following FTA per game:

    7.2
    6.5
    7.6
    5.7

Harden gets about 11 FTA per game in the Mike D'antoni system (which is far and away #1 The next couple of people at the top are big men in Embiid and Giannas who LIVE in the paint)...... the difference is that Harden ALSO takes 13 three pointers PER GAME on nearly 37% shooting and averages about 35 PPG on 23 shots a game.

How many shots is Jordan gonna take per game to get to 45?? He never shot the 3ball at a high level and teams are not going to allow you to iso players like they did in the past.

Jordan put up nearly 28 shots a game in the fast paced 80's in addition to 12 FTA per game against man to man defense...... and he still NEVER GOT CLOSE TO 45-50 PPG (He got to 37 points which is still a great #)

No hand checking. No defensive anchor. Ticky tack foul calls.

To suggest he would average under 40 in his prime today is utterly retarded

If Lebron, a beta male, can succeed at a high level in this era, just think what someone with at least average testosterone levels like MJ could do.

He would probably average 34 ppg for his career if he played today

That is so much better than 30 ppg though

He most likely wouldn't average 40 though since that is basically impossible in basketball now days

Harden is stretching the limits of usage and he tops out at 35, 36 ppg a season. Assuming that jordan develops a 3 point shot I still dont see it. Lets say he reaches 40-45 ppg for 2 months at a time. Eventually your shot goes cold

Depends on the system. KD, Curry, Lebron, Harden, Kobe, Lillard, etc.. could all average 35 PPG if they were given the SHOTS to do so in this era. It wouldn't be conducive to winning bball unless your in the D'Antoni offense which is why they generally don't shoot more than 20 FGA

Is there any video evidence of Jordan missing a shot or has it all been deleted by Nike?

MJ would be the same today as he was then. Low 30's. He was not a 3 point guy. Great mid range game. Dominant.

He dominated in the 90's when it was rugby defensively. I remember the game he got 63 vs. the Celtics. Absolutely unstoppable, but had absolute dog chit around him.

It was like Kobe when the Lakers had those lean years. Let him get his 50 and lock down everyone else.

Lebron outweighs Jordan by 50 pounds, even when Jordan was at his strongest and heaviest. Their size and style of game just doesn't compare.

He would get fouled more and be more efficient and probably average 35-37 ppg

James Harden just average 36ppg last season so is that really out of the realm of possibility that the BEST PHUCKING PLAYER IN NBA HISTORY could average at least 45ppg. Op you're a phucking idiot.

    lol at these imbreds.

1.) Jordan already averaged 37 ppg in a 82 game season in a tough era.

2.) Jordan already averaged 40 point in 6 seperate nba playoff series

    86' Celtics 43.7 ppg
    88' Cavs 45.2 ppg
    89' Cavs 40.0 ppg
    90' 76ers 43.0 ppg
    92' Heat 45.0 ppg
    93' Suns 41.0 ppg

Hell is Career playoff ppg average from 1986 to 1991 was 37.4 ppg over a 5 year playoff runs.

3.) When MJ had his 37.1 ppg season this is how he averaged that total:

4.) If MJ actually cared about developing his shot or was in this era where the 3 point shot is the most important basket, MJ would of easily cracked 40 ppg because he is a great 3 point shooter which can be proven below:

And fun fact: MJ has more scoring titles in his career than any/every active NBA player. LOL at thinking that if harden or Giannis can't score 40 ppg MJ wouldn't either. MJ has higher Percentages than harden and it's not even funny.

MJ would easily crack 40 points and it's not even funny. MJ didn't even have a weakness in his game. Not one. GREATEST PLAYER OF ALL TIME AND IT'S NOT EVEN COMPARABLE.

IF MJ WAS IN TODAY'S GAME, MJ WOULD EASILY SHOOT MORE 3'S AND GET MORE CALLS WHEN HE DRIVES TO THE BASKET.

All that and you literally forgot the most important factor in this. Pace and usage rate. Now if Jordan is gonna get 32 shots a game and get to the line 12-14 times a game (more then Harden) then sure he'd come pretty close. He'd be exhausted and drained from him and would probably have a dip in FG% throughout the season and would need go be load managed. It's much harder to get to your spot in today's league due to the defensive structures and schemes. Not only that but his team would probably be dogchit as there would be zero spacing and defenders would sag off other players because they wouldn't be a threat at all. There are so many reasons why this wouldn't happen unless Jordan turned into Steph Curry from 3 ( that FG% from 3 you out up is when THE NBA SHORTENED THE 3POINT LINE) and he was still able to get up 28-30 shots a game on great efficiency. His defense would suffer greatly as his legs would be dead as well. A 5-6 game series DOES NOT EQUAL an 82 game season. They aren't close to being the same thing

I think im more in awe of his work ethic than anything else. Only two players with elite talent that were also OBSESSED. That was MJ and Kobe. I hope one day we will get another player that has the talent, and also the obsession. This is no dis on Lebron, but he has other interests outside of basketball while he is playing and thats why he will never be up in the podium by MJ. MJ had the talent, and the work ethic. Lebron has just as much talent, but not the same work ethic. Before you get all crazy, im not saying Lebron doesn't have a great work ethic. Its just not the same as MJ's was. If he did he would be knocking down his free throws at a much better clip. He shoots 74.4% for his career which is below league average. Show me something in MJ's game that you can say is below league average. Never gonna happen.

    3 point shots

    /argument

Also your argument doesn't make sense when it comes to work ethic. Lebron has been known to spend millions on his body and fitness every year. He's had the longest prime of anyone in NBA history ever (still in it) and he never left the NBA for any reason whatsoever like Jordan did twice? Bron will probably end up playing till he's 40 and has made it known his goal is to still be playing when his son reaches the NBA. Idk what you're referring to when it comes to work ethic. You don't get the type of accomplishments that Lebron has gotten solely because you're talented boyo?

Great point. Jordan's status is helped significantly by the fact that he never played in the social media era. Most people only remember him for the great achievements and not his mistakes or 1st round playoffs losses, whereas Lebron is criticized for every single thing he does.
