    Been on a deficit, looking slimmer, but scale weight went up?

    Howdy folks!

    5’7-5’8”
    180 lbs.
    Been on deficit almost 2 weeks now, consistently working out everyday, lifting heavy and some cardio, eating Whole Foods such as tuna, chicken breast, turkey burger patties, kale, protein powder, etc. I hover around 1600-1800 calories a day.
    I have been noticing a slimmer waist flatter stomach since, but yet scale weight has gone up? Just wondering if anybody had an idea. Thanks.

    Water weight.

    If you weren't weight training before then it could also be glycogen and inflammation

    How did you determine that you are in a deficit?
    We will never know if we overreacted and did too much. We most certainly will know if we did too little.

    if you're seeing results, keep going. the scale will lie all the time. If there are 3 weeks without changes on the scale, or it's still up, consider adjusting then
