    Weight stalling but waist smaller

I've been cutting weight since July last year, and dropped from 128kg (280lbs) to my current 103 - 104kg (around 228lbs) but my weight has stalled at this amount for the last month or so.

However I have also dropped about 5cm from my waist since the new year, would it be possible that I'm just recomping while dropping some fat? I'm about 3 months into stronglifts and making some good strength gains so I was hoping this would be the case.

I have lifted before (about 5 years ago) and I'm at about 75% of my previous strength now, so I was wondering if the often mentioned muscle memory may be kicking in?

Any input would be appreciated, the scale not moving has me paranoid.

If your waist is getting smaller, (while weight staying the same) you're making progress in a recomp. Dropping some fat, adding some muscle.

How much MORE have you dropped calories as you dropped weight? If you truly haven't lost any weight in a month, you could likely drop calories by 400 a day (making sure you are still getting enough protein and continue to lift) to make the scale start dropping again.

Waist size is a good proxy for body fat in men but no weight change means slow fat loss unless you're relatively untrained.
I can tell time. Time cannot tell me.

Formerly LactoseTolerant. I'm not very imaginative.

I started out at 2200kcal when I was 128kg and I've dropped it down bit by bit to a current 1850kcal. I have been getting a lot more of my calories from protein in the last 3 months since starting SL, before I was aiming for 100g daily as I was only doing general fitness workouts really. Now I do compound lifts 3 times a week i aim for 180+ grams of protein. Besides the calorie tapering that's the only significant change in diet.
