Exclamation Need advice. From skinny to large.

Hello everyone, I am 6ft tall about 176. I’ve been a runner and skinny my entire life. My diet if you will is limited. I drink a coffee with a protein bar sometimes and eat chicken salads for dinner. Clearly I’m not taking in hardly any calories.

I’m going to follow this plan; ultimate-full-body-dumbbell program by Andy Speer which I got from this website.

I was thinking of using creatine and a whey gainer as I sit a 9-5 job and our gym closes at 8-10pm. I can only workout at our apartments complex which has dumbbells only. I spend about $100 on dinners / snacks for my gf and I so our budget is tight for me to be eating as natural foods as I know I should. Does anyone have any recommendations for supplements or workouts? How often should I go? 4-5 days a week? That’s the goal anyway.

Don't spend your limited money on a gainer, eat more food and more calorie dense food. Peanut butter, whole milk, chocolate milk, pizza, cheeseburgers, pasta with a lot of meat and cheese, more of anything and everything you already eat, etc. Track your intake and bodyweight daily somewhere like www.myfitnesspal.com and eat to consistently gain a half pound a week or a little more

If you have a programmed picked out that you want to run you should go as many times as that program calls for.

6 foot at 176lb doesn't sound skinny to me, unless you're big boned or skinny-fat. When I graduated high school (aged 17) I was 6 foot and 135lb - that was skinny!

At the end of my last cut I was 167lb at 6'1" as seen in my profile pic and I definitely didn't feel overly skinny.

Thank you for responding. I’ll do my best to get as much calories as I can with the things you suggested. May get some whey protein and creatine though. Just not sure which. Any suggestions?? Can’t wait to start this journey!

Also as for my weight it’s an estimate as I have no scale. I have a small amount of belly fat but not a lot. My arms are toothpicks.

Any major brand's creatine monohydrate powder would be fine.

Get a scale. Track daily weight as well as calorie intake.

Lots of protein choices I like
PES Select (try frosted chocolate cupcake)
Gaspari Precision (ice cream flavors especially but all seem good)
    Bodybuilding.com signature (chocolate, birthday cake)
Universal Animal Whey (all I've had)
Dymatize all of them so far
BSN Syntha-6, creamy texture and higher calories per serving which might be up your alley
