Thoughts on this spot for a squat rack in my basement.

I don't really use my basement other than a party once or twice a year. I found a few squat racks I like including the REP PR 1000 which would still fit height wise with an inch to spare. I would just mount the tv on the wall somewhere.

Do it brah. Home gym crew is GOAT. I only use mine a few times a month (usually go to gym by my work the company pays for, more equipment options there) but it's always nice to have it there when I need it.

Thats a horrendous place to have a home gym

This would be a good idea. Also don't see an issue with putting a rack there. Having a home gym is so convenient, if you don't use that space for something else important then go for it. I'm actually looking at squat stands so I can squat at home. I don't have space for a rack but think squat stands will fit storage wise in my dining room area behind my table.

squat stands are nice especially because you won't be throwing up any crazy weight. I'd be hesitant to squat 400 on a squat stand.

Put the squat rack along the edge of where the tiles start. Will look more pleasing and be closer to the plates

Yeah, I don't squat heavy so they'll work well for me. If I had the space I'd def get a rack though.

Yeah racks are the obvious way to go but they are making some quality stands now. Also just add on the safety arms and it should work pretty well.
