    Cool Bought a truck!

    First evaaarrr!! 2017 Silverado LTZ Z71 6.2l V8.

I've had a few fun sporty cars in the past, lexus, infiniti, audi, subaru STi and now got a home and family so projects need to get done and chit needs to get hauled.

very nice OP, congrats on the new purchase!
"So there I am sitting in the waiting area of the hair salon with my niece and Keanu Reeves walks in. I was nervous as ****, but too scared to say anything to him. Then my niece started crying, and I’m trying to quiet her down because I don't want to bother him. Pretty soon he walks over and asks what's wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry. He put down his magazine, picked up my niece, and lifted up his shirt, and breastfed her right there in the salon. Chill guy, really nice about it."

Nice except I always thought the square wheel wells looked odd. Glad to see GM went to round wheel wells for 2019.

Yeah but you also put premium in the 6.2..
Sick truck op Silverado z71 crew. Looking at upgrading mine and getting a newer one with the 6.2. What did you get it for and how many miles? I like the gray, looks great with front window tints too. If you live in area with salty winters I can’t recommend enough some kind of rocker guards and where your nerf bars are at the bottom of the doors. Spraying bed liner in those areas also works pretty well

That's great OP because I'll be moving soon. I'll PM you last minute.

not SRS, Got me a 2018 Silverado LTZ. It's the 4x4 not the Z71, I've been told the suspension is a bit firmer but doesn't come with the skid plates, but we know that plastic isn't going to stop anything anyways, going to get metal ones. Mine is the all chrome front. Anyways, what I love is the 4WD is true AWD, put it on the life when in AUTO and all 4 spin. Handling is great on curvy roads especially for a truck. Rides really good. Got 28K on mine and not a single problem. I love that truck.

Fun how people shine their brights at you because they think the high beams are on. Usually I don't respond unless they are obnoxious and then I turn the hi-beams on and melt their face. LED's are goat.

Thanks! I went with short 5'8'', I didn't want it too long, I think it's already a 19' truck lol. Plus for what I need to haul it's plenty. If it's longer than 6', pending what it is, I always can hook up a trailer.

Sweet! I also love me some fords. Buddy has the 6cyl ecoboost and that's a fun truck! I love the GMC/Chevy but went with the Chevy as I didn't wanna pay premium for the extra luxury.

Ya - not bad. I went down to visit the parents who live about ~60 miles away. Round trip highway was getting 22mpg highway. Around town I am around 15ish give or take a bit. for a 6.2l v8 I am impressed. Lol - I was driving around my 84 CJ7 for a bit, still in the garage and that thing gets like 10-13mpg.

Thanks! I got it for under 30k with 65k miles. For my area it was a steal! Most trucks floating around 30k are either much older and more miles, or they are a much lower trim.

Ya... this was my first LED and holy fuk are they bright. I feel bad as it used to piss me off. I'm part of a few FB silverado groups and it's always combative when they talk about Auto. Old school silverado crew state leave it in 2high, only switch into 4high when you need it and to NEVER use Auto... Then the new age crew say it works awesome and in the manual it states to use Auto when road conditions alter between pavement, snow, ice, etc. I got by the manual that way if there is ever an issue I can state I used the vehicle how the manual states. 2high on dry conditions, Auto on varying conditions, 4high on consistent snow/ice conditions or mud when it's needed.

    Thumbs up

Congrats dude! Is it the 10 speed or 8 speed?
Drove my aunts denali with the 6.2/10 speed and it’s so quick.
I had a 17 Z71 that I truly enjoyed. Even being the 5.3 it could blow off 295s under 20mph. Super fun truck

Sweet truck and congrats! Any plans of modifying it? Getting a leveling kit and tonneau cover at 4wheelonline is the first thing I did for my rig.

The Chevy SilverAdo the truck for the man who doesn't actually know what to do with a truck but still wants to tell girls he has a truck, because they can't tell the difference anyway.

Still nice truck. I love all the half tons, even the Tundra and the bastard Titan. As long as you get the best engine available its hard to go wrong with any manufacturers Truck. I still think the F-150 is the most capable with either Ecoboost engine, but can't be the sound of a chevy V8

I get the Eco Boost is higher performance than the 5.0 but if you want the sound and plenty of power get the 5.0. Thats what I did. The 5.0 has more than enough power for my needs. I agree I do like all trucks as well. Its crazy how much more payload the F150 has over the other 1/2 tons. Payload for me is a big deal, I need as much as I can get so the decision to buy a 2018 F150 a couple weeks ago was easy.

Was looking at a new 19 RST LT with most options except leather for 40k OTD. Now scoping out 20 Ram Big Horn with level 2 group and premium lighting, but it doesnt seem like the dealer want to move too much on it.
    Congrats on the truck OP
