New Vehicles That Can Last 20+ Years and Reach Over 300K Miles

Looking to buy a new vehicle what are the top vehicle brands and models that can last 20 years and go over 300,000 miles? Are Toyota/Lexus the only options?

Most 5.3 chevy vehicles, well the engine will last while everything else falls apart.
    Basically all toyota trucks. Landcruiser/4runner, GX/LX 470.
F150s if taken care of, and only the v8

Dont know to many honestly. Most people are **** when it comes to taking care of newer vehicles. I find most are trashed by 100k miles.

Anything will last that long if you keep throwing money at it. You could buy a mid 90's Cadillac which were known for extremely shotty engine/build quality and keep it going forever. A co-worker has one and he loves the car, hes on his 3rd engine.

You're not going to want to keep any car for 300k though. You're gonna be bored and looking for another one within 100k.

Seen some very high mileage Tacomas and Prius that have had very little work other than fluids, filters, brakes and tires.

Prius needs a battery pack rebuild every 120k or so.

I've seen Tundra's, Tacoma's, Volvo's, Ford trucks (especially the diesels), Toyota cars and Honda cars all with 300K on the dash before. I'm not sure why anyone would want to drive a 20 year old car with 300k miles though.

I had a 2001 F250 Diesel that had a bit over 200K on the dash but I sold it. Its probably knocking on 275-300K at the moment at 19 years old as the new owner was going to take care of it and keep it forever. (7.3 represent) I kept that truck pristine. Only the leather seats were showing wear because I never used seat covers and was too dumb to keep them conditioned on a regular basis.

While the F250 had certain issues along the way. Including transmission going out, a few fuses (easily changeable), o-rings and a few other rubber gaskets... The truck was build like a tank. And the 7.3 was bullet proof.

Been in the car business for 11 years. I will say that any vehicle that doesnt have known issues such as Focus DCT transmissions, Nissan CVTs, Hyundai Turbo issues, etc will make it to 300k if you just do the regular maintenance. Oil changes, fluid flushes, and fix little stuff like sensors, plugs, etc as they break.

Anything that doesnt have a big ass screen or tons of computer modules in it will last and not total itself out when something breaks.

The electronics are the **** that breaks the most in my opinion. Anything Japanese is just built to a much higher standard due to their perfectionism. So a Toyota or Honda or Lexus is your best bet. Honda’s drive 10x better but Toyota’s probably last a little longer

My 2004 Ford F150 has 230k miles on it. Once it finally dies on me I'll probably get a new engine & transmission put in rather than buying another vehicle.
I misc with no Avis so I can't tell if you're m/f/dolphin/F250 Super Duty V8 with 10-Speed automatic transmission and 19k lb towing capacity

    This.

The longest i ever owned a car was i believe 13 years, or maybe 14 years. My FD3S rx7. I loved that car. If i kept it, it would have a blown LS3 right now. But i saw it as a dying love.

You get bored in life. You want something different. These days, with the emissions, and the EV's and all that, why not try to jump from car to car, experiencing all different ones? Why would you want to keep 1 car that long? Makes no sense. You think that's what you want but 20+ years is a long phucking time.

My vette now, i phucking love it to death. Already 3.5 years in and i'm dying for the next toy.

Cars are all about using them, enjoying them and getting rid of them and repeating.
Schooling everyone that has to do with automotive one brah at a time. It's tiring but someone gotta do it lol

I have a manual car but auto IS WAY BETTER THESE DAYS. ACCEPT THE FACTS BRAHS! LOL

    Wealth Building

Trying to find a quality vehicle because leaslavery is not my thing. Want something nice that can be reliable and well built so I can focus on building wealth not paying crazy car payments every month.

My 98 4Runner just hit 280k. It’s only ever needed basic maintenance which I obviously keep up with.

Pretty broad range. What kind of vehicle are you interested in? Price range? Climate? Do you need awd/4x4

Forget new. Buy a couple of years old reputable vehicle so you avoid the early, accelerated depreciation.

Below is my ride. Bought used three model years later with 30k miles. Paid 44% less than original MSRP. Plan is to keep until 2030, sell and repeat. It's big, ugly, comfortable, dependable, safe, easy to work on, lacks unnecessary electronics... Perfect for my family, couldn't be happier.

Some car brands like Hyundai have so many rebates on new cars that it's cheaper to buy it new versus a 2-3 year older car.

They have been selling base automatic elantras near me for $12777

    Das it mane.

Im a top tier researcher. You guys are the first to hear the new project on im working on.

As some of you may know, the model 3 from Tesla has been catching some hardcore momentum in sales. Thats partly my fault for boasting about EVs when I didn't have all the info. Soon found out that Elon is a fraud. What im working on right now is a Tesla killer or EV killer.

For a long time, aluminum and carbon fiber have been reserved for upper end cars. This is because of the significant weight savings. Well im bringing these materials down to entry level cars - cars that are around 15-20k. The goal is to make a small sedan(not compact) achieve 80-130mpg on regular gas.

The shell of the car is highly valuable and can be returned to the dealership for cash. Its just like collecting tin cans and getting money for it - good money. You will always get a certain amount just for the shell of the car.

^Thats how you save the planet, bb.

I have a Sequoia as a third/extra vehicle. We primarily use it for the dogs and when we go to the lake. It has over 320k miles on it. Still drives and looks great. Damn good vehicle!
