Is it okay for a skinny dude to eat junk food?

    17yr, 181cm, 65kg

And with "junk food", I mean cheeseburgers. I dont eat any fried food or drink soda. Just buy like 2-3 small cheeseburgers from burger king after lifting weights so I can easily get my calories in there to try and step over the 3000 calories line.

Daily I eat around 7 eggs to breakfast and use whey protein and eat whatever we got to dinner. I always miss like 700-1000 calories and think that its an easy way to get the protein and fat in place.

Some cheeseburgers, in moderation, is fine, assuming the rest of your diet is pretty healthy. Try to eat at east 500 gram of vegetables and fruit combined.

If you care about being as healthy as possible it's probably a good idea to keep your saturated fat intake around 10% of total calories or lower.

3 fast food burgers per day certainly is not ideal if that’s what you’re doing... also probably not very cost effective, unless I guess it's a value menu thing.

But you can find cheap, better options at a grocery store...

Also, 7 eggs + those burgers is a lot of saturated fat.

No, there's more about health than bodyfat levels. That **** is toxic, and it also stops you eating nutritional foods.

I don't think cheeseburgers are the best daily food choice, but I don't consider them to be junk food. They have lots of protein and help your cal intake if you're looking to bulk.

It's just meat which has some added fat. If that fits your needs then fine. You might want to watch total saturated fats, especially if there any hydrogenated fats present.

Yellow cheese and red meat, is one of the worst combinations when it comes to nutrition. Stick to the simple burgerand if possible, remove the upper slice of bread.

Is this is a joke I assume.

Having a burger with no upper slice of bread that is depressing...... And a burger with no burger, cheese or top bun is downright criminal

    How sad looking.

That reminds me of my childhood years when I used to eat ketchup sandwiches. If only I'd have removed the upper slice because then I wouldn't have become obese.
I have a good joke about water retention. But I'm going to hold onto it for now.

MSG. High amounts of it. Research it in fast foods. BK is at the top. That's why their veggies taste so awesome. Also research what effects MSG, aka modified food starch has on the body, and not just to the individuals who are allergic to it. With BK and other fast food burger restaurants we're not talking about just a piece of red meat between two slices of bread. Do your own research.

BK serves veggies and they taste awesome? Are we talking about the soggy lettuce, tomato and onions in a Whopper?

FYI: MSG consumption at normal levels isn't a problem, except for a small minority of people.

That's what I believed too, the headaches, etc.. But apparently that's out dated info. They're now hiding it from the educated consumer under different names. Research it. Also the OP asked if it's ok to eat it everyday and was being told that's not a problem.

Hey, most of us eat that stuff at least sometimes. I don't believe it will kill you dead if it is consumed in watchful moderation. Not what I'm saying. But I think full disclosure should be exercised.

At 17 I'd go to Taco Bell and slam several tacos at a time after surfing or working out. It was great for getting in well needed calories. My diet was balanced overall with what some would consider "clean" food and there was never a problem. Eat your burgers and don't worry about it.

I've read the relevant literature. MSG isn't the problem it was once believed to be. Not even if you eat it every day.

I'm guessing the MSG scare was due to injecting it into mice at incredibly high levels and seeing adverse effects.

Not to mention the racism inherent in the idea of “Chinese Restaurant Syndrome.”

That being said, having epilepsy, I’m one of the minority that has been severely negatively impacted by the stuff.. at least in relatively large (buffet amounts of food plus some) quantities before I was medicated/even knew that I had seizures/ever woke up in the hospital after a tonic clonic. It is toxic, but for people without neurological complications it’s fine in moderation like almost everything else. Could be that some people are more prone to migraines and whatnot but the whole thing is ridiculously overblown. Before the traumatic brain injury that caused my epilepsy, I bought the isolated stuff and cooked with tons of it almost daily with no issues.

saying any food is toxic is ridiculous, over doing anything can be bad, too much veggies, too much fiber your guts won’t be happy, way way too much protein gout etc

Next time order it with no veggies and tell us if it taste better.

I agree with you when it's to go. It's usually disgustingly soggy by the time you reach your destination and eat it. Something about sitting and steaming in that paper bag.

Actually I'm jealous to those that can eat fast food on a semi regular basis and not put a dent in their physique or still feel good afterwards. Just one burger and especially the fries and I continuously burp it up for hours and then get belly bloat for a few days. Not toxic but my body definitely says what the f**k!
