I think I'm starting to get into older cars now

Don't get me wrong, the new cars today are nice and I'd definitely take a Scat Pack, but I feel the need to differentiate myself. Depending on the city you're in, everybody has the same thing you're driving. And so I've been looking at W124 Mercedes, E30 BMWs, C110 Skyline, Fox Body Mustang, etc. I also consider these cars sleepers.

My dream car would be to make an AMG Hammer Replica, a W124 body with the 6.3 M156 engine.

Somebody recently build an old Corolla with the ISF V8.

the whole purpose of owning and driving an old car is practically diminished with that stupid modern interior. a new engine performs similar functions with drawbacks and advantages so it goes both ways, but interior is desire and form. newer dashes are obnoxiously bulky and unappealing. that conversion sucks bbc.

Foxbody Mustang... not a sleeper... its a performance car , albeit a 225hp monster from the factory in 89-93... But a foxbody with a LS drivetrain is as budget friendly as it gets but its been done to absolute death.

Personally , as soon as I snag my 200mph club T $hirt with my '13 GT I am moving on... keeping the coyote but will be on the hunt for a 66-67 Lincoln Conti.

i grew into my interest in older cars. mostly due to the re-release of the challenger 10 years ago, which i fell in love with but then learned more about the original because of that.

'70-'71 had some beauties. big fan of the road runner and 'cuda too.

owning something that old and driving it daily isn't really as easy as it sounds though. also don't let "everybody else" dictate what car you pick. if you love a certain ride, and it's common, so be it

No, I'd keep the old interior, otherwise what's the point? Unless a body swap and interior swap is easy? If do body sway you don't have to worry about fitting in the engine, transmission, brakes, or suspension. Interior and body is the only things you're customizing. I'd go this route if the engine/trans swap is too hard. W124 is on the smaller side, though the Hammer had a 6.0

I like classics , the late 60’s and 70’s were the best designs imo . I sold 78 TA about five years ago as I ran out of room in my garage . Still miss her as there was nothing better than taking the T-tops off on a summer days and going for a cruise

Although they did use the 2nd gen Hurst T tops till June 78 . Mine was built July 78.

I almost repainted mine black ,as I wanted it to look like a Special Addition , but the Martinique Blue TA’s with black interiors are ultra rare

What's wrong with the scat pack??

I was able to lease one well under 500 a month, 12k a year, zero out of pocket. I pick it up in spring time for a 2020 model. Only option i got was the dynamics package so i can get the bigger brakes and wider wheels and tires.

There are SOME older cars that are worth buying. But when you take into consideration that you have old technology, old interior, a tired engine (most likely beaten up etc), no warranty and you're doing guess work on what maintenance the previous owner did, it makes zero sense.

Cars these days can be had for pennies. The interiors on most cars have gotten better, the tech they put. I mean hell even a backup camera and a bluetooth touch screen infotainment system has become standard now in cars. And not to mention the suspension and performance they put in these cars. It's crazy now.

Why would you wanna keep driving old cars? It makes no sense. Soon these big HP cars will be no more as EV starts to take over. Try to snag one up now and have fun.
Schooling everyone that has to do with automotive one brah at a time. It's tiring but someone gotta do it lol

I have a manual car but auto IS WAY BETTER THESE DAYS. ACCEPT THE FACTS BRAHS! LOL

Some of the old cars I've owned.

    Porsches '69 911T, '71 914-6, '74 914 2.0, '79 924, '83 944

    1972 Cuda 340

    '78 and '79 Trans Ams

Other than the 911T, I don't miss any of them. Modern cars are better in every way.
