    Favorite Gaming Headsets?

Looking to pick up a set. Preferably something available on amazon so I can get a couple different ones, try them out, and be able to return easily.

Quality headphones (w/detachable cable design) + attachable microphone + headphones splitter cable + USB sound card/adapter

For example, I am using the V-MODA Crossfade M100 headphones with the V-MODA BoomPro Mic attachment plugged into splitter cable and finally plugged into a Syba External USB Stereo Sound Adapter. It's easier than it sounds. They all just connect right into each other.

The other options for attachable microphones would be from the Antlion ModMic line of products, but I haven't tried those.

The external USB sound card/adapter (size of a dongle) helps reduce noise. You don't want to plug in headphones and microphones directly into the motherboard because of the noise problem. If you already have a PCI sound card installed in your PC, you can use that instead if it has the correct ports.

Don't buy "gaming" branded snake oil. My solution allows you to use most of your audiophile headphones collection as gaming headsets.

    Cliffs:
    - Get good quality headphones that has a detachable cord design
    - Get a V-MODA BoomPro or Antlion ModMic and plug that into your headphones
    - Get a Headphones Y Splitter Cable (3.5mm Female to Dual 3.5mm Male) and plug your attachable mic to it
    - Get a cheap Syba USB sound card/adapter and plug the other ends of your Y splitter cable into it
    - Plug the Syba into any USB port on your computer

Logitech G933 wireless. great sound, battery life could be longer but they'll last a few gaming sessions before needing a recharge
