Total Newbie Looking For Some Advice

Hey everyone so since February I have been trying to lose weight and improve my overall lifestyle a bit. I am 6ft 3 and started the year just shy of 280lbs.

Now all I have really been doing in terms of working out is running and the stair master, actually did my first 10k's this year.

End goal is about 175lbs (but then want to try and work on getting leaner). I weigh myself every Friday morning and last time I was 181lbs. Have gotten close to it so far but those last 5 or 6 lbs seem to be the real issue to get off.

    In terms of food

Monday I traditionally just fast for the day
Tuesday to Friday my diet consists of - Lunch: 3 eggs in an omelet with half a pack of cooked chicken. Supper: Two pieces of lemon sole
Saturday to Sunday I just make a cheat day mostly on Saturday but maybe a little spills in to Sunday as well found this has really helped me stick quite disciplined through the week having this to look forward to.

As you can tell from what I have been doing fitness/nutrition wise im not very well versed so was just looking to see if anybody could maybe give me a few pointers on anything.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Cheat days are for the extreme athletes or those few who can do it without overdoing it, NOT the obese.

You need to get a more consistent nutrition plan which fulfills your vitamin requirements every day.

Right now you're basically just starving yourself all week and binge eating all weekend.

I did stick to a much stricter plan the first few months in was more just when I got closer to my target weight/healthy weight introduced a cheat meal as it felt like I was hitting wall.

    Any foods you'd recommend introducing?

Don't get me wrong I think the way I have worded it might make it sound worse than it actually is. I still go to the gym for an hour most Saturday mornings before I eat anything. And im not just stuffing my face sunrise to sunset, I just will treat myself to something then that I never would through the week.

Having a full cheat day is no way to improve a fatloss phase.

Meat, fruits and vegetables of all kinds, so long as you're not experiencing bowel issues from them.

If you're using high calorie days, you're gonna want to get some extra fuel in before you train, so that you can train harder.
