    Shoulder pain and health

I started having some pretty significant pain in my left shoulder about a week or so ago. Hurts when I lift my arm overhead, put it behind my back, raise it in front of me. Unfortunately, I don't really know if I slept funny (with my arm overhead) or I strained it benching or something. The pain just sort of showed up one day. Anyway, for some reason I thought it may be a good idea to attempt to work on my pull ups on the assisted pull up machine. So, I grabbed on and dropped down and immediately both shoulders started screaming, which made me think I may need to work some on my shoulder health. Any ideas on how I can improve my shoulder function. I may need to see my doctor regarding my left shoulder and ask for a pt, but both seem to need some help.
".......have you paid your dues Jack?"
"Yes Sir, the check is in the mail."
