    Bulk, cut, or maintenance?

I am 27F, highest weight was 200 lbs. in January 2018, got down to about 133 lbs. in July 2019, and am now sitting at about 140 lbs.

I lifted throughout my weight loss but not with the best consistency, maybe 1-3 times a week on average.

Last month I started seeing a personal trainer. He has gotten me on 4x per week lifting, first with a set of 3x5 main lift with the barbell of either squat, deadlift, bench press, or overhead press, plus accessory and core work, plus a day of yoga and a day of cardio. I'm not sure whether I should be lean bulking or cutting. I want to be leaner in the long run, but I have this trainer for 3 more months and am not sure if I should be cutting throughout our program and not gaining muscle, but I feel too chunky. I may feel chunkier than I really am but I do want to lose fat. Goal physique is probably around 20% body fat, athletic, slender. In the month with my trainer I gained a couple pounds but he said my body fat went down a couple percent.

    Any advice?

    Maintenance calories while lifting.
Once done with trainer go on a cut. If you are happy with how you look after the cut start maintenance back up again.
If you would like more muscle after your cut go on a clean bulk and repeat the process after you feel you have gained enough muscle.
